FTSE 100 intraday trading - JUNE 2003

ftse seems to be giving a lot of signals today ?
one of them is going to be wrong ?
anyway short at 55

looks like I have been whip sawed.
dont like it when it doesnt move in my direction
almost straight away.

but we'll see ?

...it's worth spending time reading Chartman's thread on the very subject and definitely worth paper trading/using v low stakes for several weeks.

Good luck!

johnny40,

Being a bigger number, the DOW tends to offer more points. I've had some small losses but I just managed to nick 40 points. When it runs there's good mileage. I should have had a bit more by continuing to lift my stop but decided to get clever  and call the turn.........
I was trading Ftse with 3x3 1min. P&F but got fed up with false breaks, tight ranges. There was a good one this AM on a break of 34 the count was 58 and it made 57. Not bad, shame I was out at the time.

Good luck

Oatman, that's what I was thinking,if you get one of these 100+ runs once a week,£20p.p that would do just nice.

are you sure, really sure?

lol

I sometimes trade after hours but only
1-When I am on a good thing
2-When I am on a bad thing
3-When she goes out for the evening.

but I dont post any details about it as it would be meaningless
to anyone who is not following the market at that time.
especially after the futures market closes.

It may be my imagination, but it seems to me that its much easier to spot the movements. There are fewer influences at work.

its up to you, but after futs have closed, the prices are very artificial.

but they often revert to the futures closing price so there
are some opportunities. Bit dodgy though.
