Brexit and the Consequences

I predict more letters going into the 1922 committee this week, Davis challenges May for leadership, Boris becomes deputy P.M And Davis steps aside next year...Anything ive missed ?[/QUOTE]

As Boris is half American he might interest Trump in having the UK as the 51st state ?

Well he already owns a big chunk of Scotland.

I reckon once the dust settles over Brexit in a decade or two the British 'establishment' (no reference to SC's posts) can look at why so many voted the way they did and do something about excess immigration and skewed distribution of incomes in the UK (y)

What tripe are you spouting now?

Do you really think they care about which way people vote unless it goes against them? No they don’t, all they care about is money and power and if you don’t like that then you are in for a long hard fight against them, just as we are witnessing with Brexit.

This is just the beginning of a long hard fight against ‘the establishment’, deep state corporatists on a local and global scale, it won’t be going away anytime soon, they’ve held the power until the internet and social media, now look at them, taking control of the internet, majority want out, that what will happen eventually.

The only way they can stop it is by ignoring democracy in its entirety and they have already started down that route.

There is none so blind as those who will not see.

Working for FB far better than writing columns or hosting a local radio show.

I like Clegg. Did what he had to for the country. Tories are the real losers imo. Growling to the DUP paying for support. Could have been so different if they had LibDems guiding hands. Such is life.

Moreover, taxing university grads fair I reckon. I've paid higher rate of tax for best part of my career and don't feel bad about it. Got free education with full grants. Only fair. Payback is fair too from earnings. If lifetime earnings not good then you don't pay.

Especially so, when most people who do go to uni are from favourable middle-class backgrounds or they are the smart ones who'll do well in life whatever comes their way as they want to progress and move forward. Education is always a good investment.

Clegg is a fine example of a corporatist globalist, £4million to do what? Subvert social media for the benefit of the few? Some middle of the road socialist he’s turned out to be, he’s worse than Corbyn in his fascistic, totalitarian direction.

Today's caption competition.....

I watched the "leave means leave" event last night in Gateshead, The whole stadium was packed wall to wall. Some very good and inspiring speeches by Kate Hoey, Farage, Oakshot etc...The crowd were going wild, There is still as much passion for brexit as ever, its just us brexiteers are not as vocal as the remain crowd, Im sick of the same old rhetoric being spewed out on a daily basis, " you cheated, you broke the law, it was only advisory, cry cry blah blah...

I concur.

When May starts spouting crap about extending deadlines in a climate where the plebs keep telling the Govt to "just get on with it" then I can't see how she can sell this latest dingbat idea to the public. Total non starter I recon.

Little known facts.

Did you know that we now do 1% of our GDP with Australia. Which is down from 9% before we got tangled up with the EU.

This is the view that I now accept. As such, I think it's highly unlikely that Brexit will ever happen. Brexiteers may have won the battle, but the war is well and truly lost. I fear the time has come to get out the white flag and prostrate myself at the feet of Atilla, barjon et al and beg for mercy.
;)
Tim.

Pffftt

Yay  Yay

Theresa May says 95% of Brexit deal is done

Brilliant politics. Stealing Brexiteers thunder.

Comon chaps, put-up or shut-up. All that hype and dreams about we gonna do this and that.

Cat's got your tongue.

No squeaks! :cheesy:

Wednesday is crunch day for May. It's the meeting of the backbench 1922 committee and she has been asked to attend.

So my reading of such meeting is this. Either she tells them what's going on with negotiations and manages to convince them that there's a real prospect of an acceptable deal.......or, she's toast. I don't think waffling through the meeting will cut the mustard, she will need to produce something concrete, which could be problematic seeing as how she has nothing to show for 2+ yrs buggering about.

If she’s toasted just what idiot is going to take the suicide pass? They all know the task of coming away with a brexiteers satisfactory deal is nigh on impossible so I doubt there will be a stampede.

Well, as far as I can tell, the only thing Brexiteers are interested in is a trade deal. Anything else is viewed as Brino.

As for the tactics of such a move, it doesn't much matter who is put in place as an interim leader given that Brexiteers would be happy enough with a No deal. We could simply run down the clock and watch the EU go into meltdown.

Remoaners and the establishment probably thought they could win this Brexit battle, but it must surely be dawning on everyone by now that this is One battle they cannot be allowed to win.
