A member has started this thread about how to trade the election but, in view of the interest in Atilla's threads on Brexit and Trump respectively, I thought it might be an idea to have a thread to discuss the politics of it. So here it is!

And an obvious way to kick it off is to pose this question . . .
Is this an election in any real sense - or is it simply a coronation for Mrs. May?
Tim.

Much of it has to do with increasing the majority to allow Tory policy on Brexit to be enacted without any real opposition. That and being able to increase tax / NI as it will not be a manifesto pledge to not do so as was the case in the 2015 general election all IMHO of course.
