Brexit and the Consequences

Just watched Question time from yesterday evening...

No change in Brexit fiasco.

Labour guy has such a loud mouth. Had to mute when ever he was talking. Couldn't understand what he was saying. Was he really speaking English?

You'd be lynched if you said that where he comes from - even if it is true!

He either was speaking with an old sock in his gob or somebody needs to shove one in it.

Sort of thing I might have said to the kids, not to talk with your mouth full. Unlike the kids he had deep groany coarse sandy voice box. Had to reach out for some paracetamol by the end of it.

I think we really are well and truly stuffed.

We have working class numpties on one side voting for Brexit and we have numpties in the Labour party trying to take party to extreme left.

Tories hijacked by UKIP and far right taking country to one end of the spectrum.

Then we have lefties taking Labour party to the other end.

As for skinny Moggy dicky I thought it was really telling that he has recently setup an office in Ireland and his "Global" hedge fund (don't say anything about globalisation) moved 5% of assets to Ireland.

Question is why now and not before Brexit?

Answer is - Contingency Planning :LOL::LOL:

Such a lying toe rag. A most despicable man of self-interest trying to turn country into some low tax safe haven to maximise his gains. Stuff about tariffs and food prices his repeated contrary to falling standards and prices to be offset by falling pound. Most people on min wage already suffering and they'll be suffering even more whilst he gets to pay less tax and make more money growing his hedge fund.

How bloody marvellous.

The people will turn against him soon enough once they see what they were promised or believed in were a load of **** and bull.

Boris is a joke. Canada +++++ deal now is it? He can put as many +++++ as he likes. Not clever politician at all is he. The +++++ are the make-believe wishes. What ever you want believe in it close your eyes and he'll make it magically appear before your eyes. Look out for those +++++red busses.

Glued to the Ryder Cup at the moment. Gotta say it’s one occasion where I feel downright European. Come on the boys!!

Mogg was outstanding yet again and the journo guy did a sterling job debunking the lefties policy drivel. (y)

For the Remoaners.

First of all some facts.

1) We are leaving the EU on 29th March 2019
2) Chequers is in a coma, soon to be dead.
3) May doesn't have a majority to get Chequers through parliament, let alone get it accepted by the EU.
4) With no agreed deal, then No Deal is the backstop along with the ensuing chaos it will needlessly create.
5) EU have already offered a free trade arrangement based on the Canada deal, which was rejected by May.

This is how you do Brexit and if you don't agree, then you had better have some bl00dy good reasons why we need to be closer to the EU. (chequers) (vassal state)

The quality of existence of the exit deal is no reason not to leave the EU, the referendum was never conditional in this way, and the Leave campaigns were clear at the time that we would benefit from freedoms to trade with the rest of the world if we were freed from any and all ties to Brussels.

This whole argument is a non-issue generated simply as ammunition for leadership challenges, and the public should not be duped into support for a new referendum which will change nothing.

As I understand it, the Canada deal and Chequers differ in the way goods are imported and tariffs are paid. The former would mean border controls and a hard Brexit. The latter intends tariffs to be paid before the goods enter or leave the UK. Goods in transit to EU, I mean. This would eliminate the need for border controls in N.Ireland, which is at the heart of the problem.

The UK Parliament is a mess because it is split down the middle, the same as is the UK, whether you like it , or not. I don't, particularly, like TM, but she has a lousy job and is as good, if not better, than anyone you have to offer.

It very much is an issue Tom in the way we leave.

Under Chequers we would be bound up in EU rules/regs which other countries have said will prevent us from doing bilateral trade deals.

Under Canada style deal, we abide by EU rules and they abide by our rules. No problem and no tariffs.

Under No Deal, we can trade with whoever we like under WTO as the standard with the possibility of tariff free agreements as negotiated bi-laterally.

To be clear, Chequers is the worst of all options. It's simply damage limitation in the short term, as opposed to ambitious outward looking participation in the future.

This WTO trading is touted about as if it is some super recipe to cure all trading ailments.

I'm afraid it is the worst deal if one just stops to take one breath and considers why do any trade deals at all if WTO is so fab?

There are many issues that come with WTO. As mentioned by industry, the just in time delivery process fails abysmally; the additional cost of holding stock, warehousing and manual handling simply add to costs and time delay.

Really just about everything promised by the leave camp is turning out to be an absolute nightmare to work on or deliver.

It's now just rhetoric of words and people don't seem to have the foggiest of what it means until it is in front of their noses staring them in the eyes. They won't be told. They will have to see the consequences.

Chequers plan is a political game by TM who thinks she's being smart waiting for the EU to get back to her with proposals.

Canada ++++ is more politics and an inferior trade deal to what we have now. It took 7 years to agree and has entailed compromises by Canada. Why do you think it took 7 years to reach??? UK adopting it smacks of desperation and Boris would like the +++++ yes for sure. He is dreamer and his chance of being anything worthy or significant is running out with Brexit conclusion.

I think nearer to March we get, more Brexiteers will be pooping in their pants.

Options clear:

1. Parliament votes it out
2. We have new elections and labour keep us in common market botch up
3. People vote on the deal

Last point. It should be clear that quite a few EU countries outside of German car industry really don't want UK to stay. Just about most countries will benefit from UK's departure. Portugal and Romania included.

This great deal ladidadidaaa is a load of rubbish. Not happening. UK will still buy German cars and EU goods and services. Who'd believe UK is the biggest market for German cars in the World and consumer isn't going to change because of some tariffs. German cars priced high enough already and people still buy them.

Such a stink about it all this Brexit fiasco. Hope you guys all out there know your beans means Brexit and all that... :whistling
