You keep referring to the French as if it's of any consequence to us. Remember we are out of the EU and we need to control our borders. Take back control.

Jumping the gun? We are not out of the EU yet! The French should be following the rules of the EU and already be processing migrants appropriately.

UK has very little border or custom control officers. I fail to see why you do not wish to do what is sensible and right but play some kind of cat and mouse games with a bunch of nobodies creating useless jobs.

What is sensible and right? Hiring lots more border control officers appears to be a sensible and cheaper option than just ignoring the problem and allowing illegals over the border!

Interesting comments but it's not clear exactly what you mean. "Overrun" by whom? or what? And how are you using "ghetto"? As you've compared the country to a city your meaning is still a bit vague. Is your read of the situation as bad as London, the same, or worse?

However, I do think that once we've got all the Londoners corralled in London they should still continue to subsidise the rest of the UK with the vast amount of money that they earn - good old socialist principle of the few supporting the many.

Also, those outside London should still be allowed to go there and cream off the benefits – obviously that couldn't go on for ever so I think there should be a flexible date: something we could "expect" but wouldn't want to set a specific date to.

Then there's the problem of the M25 wall – they sorted that problem out in Berlin didn't they? So a few Vopo towers is what we need there and no doubt that will generate a lucrative wall crossing business – the likes of Harry Palmer will soon be able to make a few bob out of it. Or of course, if Jezza's in charge we could dig a few Hamas tunnels – he's got all the right sort of contacts to get that sorted out.

It could all be easily solved if London pays the remainder of UK shed loads of money to get their independence while still agreeing to the rest of UK's needs. Simples!

Yeah to be clearer, the same ghetto environment in Paris as you might expect in London. The same concentrations of ethnics who either, have no intention of integrating, or are not accepted into the existing community therefore have no chance to integrate.

Only have to look what happens in the animal world to know that humans behave in exactly the same way.
Do Lions mix with monkeys and hyenas mix with deer! Obviously not and it's just the same when it comes down to different people and cultures. Take any country and look at the population make up. I guarantee there will be tensions amongst different races and cultures.

Wider EU project is total folly. If they had stuck to a trade and travel arrangement without all the rest of the nonsense, then I doubt anyone would be having these debates , but they just cant resist extending their meddling nature.

Beyond / Within the Pale:

The Soviets seem to have been partially inspired by a home-grown project. A while ago (maybe two or three whiles ago) the English operated a system uncannily similar to both the Iron Curtain and the putative M25 Iron Sphincter solution. It may not be as final as solutions go but we could probably leave off building shower halls and crematoria until we see how it works.
