Terrorism is bad for trade, money markets, business generally and so it is of interest to us too.

Naturally we sympathise with the people hurt and killed in the latest attacks in Paris and hope the security people catch any parts of the terrorist network still alive.

Deploying the army in the streets etc. looks good for TV but doing something after the event it seems. The terrorist cells will lie low for a while I expect.

As predicted some of the migrants are ISL terrorists.

I would like to see an anti terrorist statue put in London.

From the news it seems some of the Paris shooters were well known to the police. Obviously they can't distinguish a future terrorist from a petty criminal.
Just maybe some need locking up until they come to their senses.

Just a small act of defiance. Maybe they will waste their bombs on it too.

Things may not be perfect but surely most don't want what has taken centuries to build up, to be knocked down in seconds.

I was thinking that after Friday's attacks the markets would fall. But no they have risen. Weird or what.
Who benefits from terrorism ?
1. Security. Policemen and private companies
2. Small arms manufacturers
3. Arms dealers, particularly black market.
4. The media having a new story to report.
5. Drug and people smugglers.
8. Organisations like Al Quaida. ISL, Boko Haram etc.
9. Builders repairing the damage.
10. Insurance companies.
11. Swiss bankers.

Those that suffer
1. People caught up in the violence
2. Property damage.

Might be some time before the wild ones get tired of this phase imho

Given that we've been at war for 25 years, more war is a yawn for the markets. Without economic upheaval of some sort, it's just business as has become usual.

Their income won't dry up as long as the oil flows. And continued oil flow is of paramount importance. Which is what got us into all this trouble a hundred years ago.

Their oil trucks have been shot up which should dent their income a bit. The major nations seem reluctant to blow up their oil refineries. They may demand money NOT to attack certain targets.

"Reluctant" is an understatement. If major nations were serious about alternate sources of energy, they would have pursued solar cells back in the 40s. But the oil companies were not enthusiastic. They are also heavy campaign contributors.

The main benfeficiary of terrorism is the leading state most aligned with defeat of the sponsors of that particular terrorism. As far as the west / UN aligns increasingly against IS as a result of Paris, the main beneficiary of the Paris attacks is the US. A secondary beneficiary is the UK. Not that I'm saying these awful atrocities were a good thing, but terrorism is in the end self-defeating.
