Brexit and the Consequences

Very premature stuff to say the least.

Another key point on the horizon for me is a potential trump win and when he turns his tariff deal negotiations towards EU.

UK aligning with US will be significant to new future relationship.

Will be frosty to say the least. Much love with our EU cousins will be lost.

It will be very emotional and English hearts will be torn. Well all start talkin about the war again.

Oh what Joy's await us. 😀

Hardly premature when the French have been rioting for over a year, Dutch farmers for months, many EU members have held referendums to leave before us, then stitched-up. Italy and the Visegrad have had anti-EU leadership or opposition for years, the citizenship is discontent and the major EU hierarchy is crumbling, classic hallmarks of an Empire in decline. The founding fathers of the EU are long gone, along with their ideas, the world is moving on at a rapid pace, Chinese will be invading North Africa soon enough, shrinking the EU's ambitions for control over that region and then there is Trump............

OMG that is soooo funniiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeee....

Well done SC. Loved the script.

Alignment with the Furer is a little off factual considering EU was setup to prevent likes of his return and Brexiteers are indeed stoking the rise of the far-right movements but hey that can be peddled by Brexiteers as artistic licence to thrill.

Very good. I like it. (y)

........ The founding fathers of the EU are long gone, along with their ideas, the world is moving on at a rapid pace, ......

Poor Winston - the old fuddy-duddy with his quaint ideas:)

Once the safeguards have been removed no doubt we'll go back to killing each other - as is the natural order of things. Now that the writing is on the wall we need to be thinking of a pre-emptive strike -as Scotland will shortly be leaving our own Union perhaps we could retake Aquitaine to replace it. Much better food there and we would no longer have to bother with import duties on the drink.

What worries many independent minded people is the continuing tightening up of the EU.
We already have the union of politics, law and economics. Adding the military to joint control was a step too far by foolish EU leaders. They have shot themselves in the foot .
Everyone is aware that the EU only has a puppet Parliament, The real power is the nation contributing the most money and that is Germany. Merkel's daft immigration etc. policies held sway in Europe.
I think the EU concept was a brave and noble effort ruined by stupid politicians. It may well collapse after Brexit.

"The EU concept" was always doomed to failure. The original Common Market which we joined was an excellent idea.

More from Starkey. Sound quality not the best. He even has a solution to Sigs BBC issue, but I won't spoil it.

Let the BBC wither on the vine, just like any other unpopular commercial enterprise, just as it should be. Starky is rather excited by it all, good man 🤣

It will be interesting to see the BBC revenue figures when they are published next and compare them to previous years, that will be a good measure of how many people have been cancelling their TV licenses over recent years.

What is doomed is this old cold war, with US still conducting it self like it's 1960s all over again.

Germany and Russia have reacted angrily to sanctions approved by US President Donald Trump on a gas pipeline between the two countries.

Is Megxit a consequence of Brexit?

Racism seems to be one of the words branded about.

Funny how people dishing it don't seem to think it is so.

People on the receiving end feel it so but now get called out for whining when raising it.

Brave new world awaits us.

Hard to conflate Megxit with Brexit, I can't find a link!

Socialists like to play the race card at every opportunity and attribute it to anything that goes wrong, it's one reason why they will never get near power.

The most racist racists in Britain are socialists/marxists, the Labour party has the highest number of MPs being investigated for racism by the police, they haven't managed to sort out their antisemitism and appear to be carrying on as if nothing ever happened.

The anti-semitism issue can't be disposed of by Labour because its implicit in their modern political belief systems and their Marxist ideology.

Corbyn showed himself unwilling to deal with allegations of anti-semitism within the party through the Shami Chakrabarti fiasco. He appointed her to lead an "independent inquiry" into the issue in April 2016. She almost immediately joined the Labour Party. So much for her independence.

Chakrabarti reported her findings at the end of June. In July before her report's recommendations had been put into action, she was proposed by Corbyn as the sole Labour-nominated candidate for a peerage, She of course gladly accepted the peerage, compromising further her own ability to support her own report's recommendations. She went on to offer incomplete disclosure over her peerage offer's timing to the Parliamentary Select Committee.

The Committee concluded that with insufficient evidence of anti-semitism within Labour they would have to drop the matter. Notwithstanding that it was Chakrabarti herself who was tasked with finding the evidence, so it was no wonder they had to back down.

What a stitch-up.

Hopefully and good riddance. And sod all to do with racism.

Some of us knew she was trouble as soon as she arrived on the scene. As for Harry, i'm afraid he's easily lead and a bit soft in the head, as borne out by his recent antics.

If the UK is guilty of One thing, it's being too accommodative of others and others cultures. I suspect other countries are guilty of it also. As has been pointed out previously, when Brits travel they want to go experience difference and other cultural ways, not some flavourless harmogenised soup the same, or worse, than they can get over here!
