Brexit and the Consequences

The only thing you got right there was the "geezer" bit:)

As for calling out the lies and deceit ....life's too short. We're submerged in them all day and everyday and the only thing that's maybe a tad different atm is that more people have noticed. If Brexit has achieved nothing else it has at least raised the populace's awareness.

I have two burning questions for you, Att, that are keeping me awake in these troubled times - sometimes at night as well!

1. Where in Brighton can one park for free?

2. Why is breakfast in the cafés quite so outrageously expensive?

As we've got less than a thousand posts to go before the magic number and the Brexit thread implodes, I've been preparing for Sig's new Venezuela thread - I can barely contain myself until he goes live with it. . Curiously, there are a lot of similarities with the UK's situation but the main players seem to be more entertaining than our current cast of misfits and boring incompetents....and they have better music too.

Dear Canta,

We haven't been introduced or met but I need to tell you, I am an anti-car kind of a geezer these days and more likely to issue a PCN or implement an ANPR system to snap peeps abusing bus lanes. So if I have a CEO title that would mean Civil Enforcement Officer to you. My white sock and shoes, Billericay Essex days, racing Ford Escorts is well behind me. Cycling and hugging trees so much more fun and desirable to me. Thus, best you leave your car behind and get on ya bike if you want to wonder into town. Then you'll have more coins in pocket to afford some outrageous coffee instead of, expensive metal destroying our lovely planet Earth(y)

Hope you Brexiteers see the irony of another Brexiteer calling out the deceitful lies of your very own loved and cherished Brexiteer in TM.

So you reckon She is a Brexiteer then? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Us Brexiteers know one when we see one - and she ain't one!

An Englishman, a Scotsman and an Irishman walk into a bar. The Englishman wanted to go so they all had to leave.

The Englishman said we will have a vote to leave , He won by 2to1 But the looser wouldn’t accept it, Their still in the bar now 3 years on...

2to1? Really? You on par with CV :love::love:

How many Tory MPs does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

None - they’re too busy screwing the country

(y)

I wonder at what point these “remainer” mp’s who have thwarted and conspired against this process realise that the deal they have forced through is worse than remaining, wto or anything else that was offered beforehand, Absolute imbeciles..

I still fail to see why we are paying almost 40bn for some 2 year temporary agreement??? (n)(n)(n)

World’s biggest wealth fund piles billions of pounds into Britain

SC matey, these hedge funds will have some piece of news that you and I don't have.

Yes there will always be losers and winners in any such fundamental decision but they will not always be favourable to UK interests.

For all we know, they are betting on Brexit not happening or even softening. For you to leap on some dubious headline with two messages is not very smart.

Smacks of Brexiteer desperation to me. (y)

Hey, Atilla, don’t fall into the brexiteer’s trap of pooh-poohing absolutely anything critical of brexit as project fear or fake news :). This has to be quite good news for confidence in the future albeit that shares can go up or down and they may be adding to losses since their existing 62 billion stake in us dropped 12% last year.

Yeah you guys are hilarious. We are still waiting to hear the excuses as to why Europe is not performing whilst the UK is outperforming. At some point you will have to concede that the European model is pants. :)

Absolutely. Just as you should explain how it is that we have managed to do so well whilst still being a full-member of the EU and its pants in all their glory.

Whilst I both admire and concur as far as the sentiment goes, alas, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Cycling the 50 miles to Blighty from the Great Wen would already require more joules than I can carry in my back-pack and then the next bit from the town to Beachy Head or Saltmarsh for an amble would need me to be connected to a fast-charger for the rest of the day. You can imagine that if I add Madame into the equation the whole proposition becomes about as likely as a smooth Brexit.

Hi Cant',
The answer of course - as I'm sure you're well aware - is that it's been factored in since the June 2016 result. Good news for the UK and bad, bad, bad news for the EU; especially if they don't get their 39 billion - which is going to hit 'em where it hurts.
:p

... and when we refuse to pay and renege on our financial commitments the EU will seek redress in the International Court of Justice. That’ll do our reputation the power of good.
