S&P 500 cash weekly competition for 2014 with PRIZES!

Still do not understand what is suggested here?

Just include people in what?

More information please...

I'm glad it's not just me. I can't make heads or tails of it but I think there are 2 different ideas and we are confusing them.

Interesting psychologically how this debate is getting more and more confusing. :), sort of like politics. Will the end result be an unworkable mish-mash of everyones ideas too ?

You are running it Atilla and should therefore say how it is to be. If you can't think of an improvement perhaps stay as we are then ?

Well as a summary:

1. Samspade's #50 post commented on counting games vs points as his system doesn't always give a trigger.
- Not sure if I understand this but we already have number of games played.

2. You saw his point and suggested increasing scale of points per week.
- I do not understand increasing scale of points per week.

3. I have a new column under test with two new weights; SWAG and SWAT.
- SWAG amends weight by dividing points/games played
- This I think will improve weight of forecast for those entrants who has best record of being near weekly close
- SWAT gives bigger weighting to forecasters with higher medals.

This has not been implemented. Just something toying about to see if WA can be improved upon. Was going to raise it after some further testing.

So that's it. All things being equal as we were - carry on forecasting (y)

(y)

Just to explain point 2

week 1 = same points system
week 2 = same points system + 2 on each score
week 3 = same points system +3 on each score

etc.

The point of it is for the benefit of slow and late starters.

capice ?

I heard on R4 last night that the BBC meteorology unit is buying a new computer system. Looks like the old setup will be for sale and likely to be very cheap. Not being a computer geek but it may not be too hard to turn the weather forecasting prog to financial forecasting for an IT specialist ???

Anyone ??

Well I've started using the moon after Malaguti and the Delta Phenomenon introduced me to its influence on the markets...

I'm sure it can be used as an indicator somewhere... (y)
