I am against free trade. All it does is cause problems..bad feelings. Best to let each country have their own trade and technology. I am for the USA pulling out of the U.N. I am for cutting foreign aid. All we get is compaints and more complaints that we don't do enough. I am 100% for the U.S. becoming totally self-sufficient and just letting the rest of the world do what they want to do. I am 100% for star wars and building the strongest millitary and defense system so no nation would want to ever attack us and then just leave the rest of the world alone. No world summits. No free trade. No UN. All sounds GREAT to me! I am 100% for the USA becoming an isolationist nation. Not giving any technology to the rest of the world. Let them figure it out themselves. All we get is grief from the rest of the world. Don't fight the world's wars. Don't defend Europe or any other country. If dictators take over some country then just let'um. Kick all illegal persons out and all anti american foreigners out of the U.S. If they are against our ways and our country then let them go somewhere else. Don't put spanish and french on packages. Everything should be in english here. This is an english speaking country. If someone wants to live here LEARN english. How is that? Sounds great doesn't it.

The only way I see out is my vision of the perfect America. But then, the world would hate us even more if we did it. For my idea of the perfect America see my previous post to el commandante above. So, I guess you guys are stuck with us the way we are. But I can tell you this. I would be against US defending any part of Europe in a war. If it weren't for America the world would be under Hitler now. But you probally think it would be a better world under Hitler. We saved Frances hide in WW2 and Englands too but I would be against defending those countries because of their attitude towards us now. The more you do the less you are appreciated. It takes the other countries to sign the free trade agreements..etc so THEY are just as much a part of it as the U.S. You see Mexico willing signed. Central America willing. So if a country doesn't like it DON'T sign these deals! Simple! No signature NO free trade agreement. So, when you guys gripe, gripe at your OWN governments. Your government could have said NO to the summit today. Why didn't they? Why don't the Argentine people carry signs against their OWN beloved presidente for allowing the summit? But no you carry signs against Bush? Blame the Americans again for the economic problems of Aregentina. The US tried that in WW1, Wall Street grew thirty fold during the war years, profiting by financing British, French and German companies in the war effort. Only when US war loans were threatened by a possible German victory, did the Americans finally get off the fence.
You would be against defending France and Britain now because of our criticism? People in Europe are immensely grateful to all those that sacrificed, of all nations, they would've perhaps preferred a more timely, less self serving response. Earlier US participation in the inevitable conflict would have saved lives. That is at the route of current US criticism. Whatever the arguments for today's foreign campaigns, self interest is at its core.
I get a little tired of Yanks and their lessons on Wars. Maybe America's attitude is different because of the comparatively smaller death toll, and certainly non of it on home soil. Europe had 60 million dead on its lands, a horror the most American's can't imagine, even those that could even tell you where and when the Wars took place.
And today we remember all the millions that were sacrificed in the most pointless of conflicts.
Yes, many others died. And from many nations. In no way would I mean to make light of the ultimate sacrifices made by anyone, regardless of nation. However, IF the US wouldn't have entered it is unlikely it would have turned out like it did. And Hitler would have dominated Europe. And you might have zeros flying in your back yard. Fortunately, Hitler was a twit, overruled his High Command and sent the his troops to attack Russia, instead of finishing off Britain. The RAF allies in the Battle of Britain were on the back foot, one more wave from the Luftwaffe and mainland Britain would have been open to an easier cross channel invasion by the Nazis, had they chosen to do so.
