What did the commission find?
The Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory concluded that Israel has committed genocide in Gaza.It said there were reasonable grounds to conclude that Israel had carried out four of the five genocidal acts defined in the 1948 Genocide Convention since 2023.
These included killing members of a group, causing them serious bodily and mental harm, deliberately inflicting conditions calculated to destroy the group, and preventing births.
The report alleges Israeli authorities and forces have committed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza through:
