Current events

The Great British public have clearly demonstrated that they are not pleased with any of the current leaders.
Where oh where is an inspirational leader with good ideas ?
Not the hand wringing platitudes of May and co.
Get after the terrorists. Make THEM suffer !
Perhaps the DUP will show some sp*nk ?? They have had plenty of practice after all
NO SURRENDER

Stopped watching the Tour years ago when it was obvious the winner would be the guy with the best chemistry set.

Wiki - 14 of the 25 most recent winners either tested positive or confessed to doping. Other winners tested positive but were not sanctioned!?!?

You suggesting elbows be allowed if they could perform the act discreetly. :cheesy:

I like wathcing it and then feel inspired to cycle up Devil's Dyke when ever I think my heart needs a little more oomph.

Anybody take these?

North Korea claims its latest rocket test on last Tuesday could have reached the US mainland.
This has sent renewed jitters through Washington. It is coming to the conclusion soon. Will the US have a pre-emptive strike and try and knock out NK's missile and bomb programmes or will it wait until NK hits a major US city ?

Range is one thing, accuracy a different question.

But what would be NK's gain in dropping a missile onto US soil?

That's what the US does when it drops mother of all bombs onto some mountain side in Afghanistan claiming death of 200 ISIS terrorists.

Or busting a bit of tarmac in Syrian airfield and claiming they've taken it out of operation.

Short **** is playing the same game as Saddam beefing up his position.

More reasonably, he is posturing to improve his bargaining/negotiation options. Cowboys reading it all wrong.

On another note I heard re-entry to Earth's atmosphere with a nuclear war head is a little more tricky.

First the US should check with NK's sponsors i.e. China and Russia.
What if the US launches a first strike and destroys NK's mad dreams of.......world supremacy or something.
Could the US offer something to bribe those 2 ignorant giants to keep quiet ?
Maybe say to China that the US won't go ahead with its trade barrier schemes ?
The US should warn China that it's tourists are no longer safe visiting NK. That would make a huge hole in NK's foreign reserves.

Personally I would give the North Korean cowards the chance to avert disaster by having a regime change or get a bomb on fatboy' head on his next parade.

Trump is right. The time for soft talking is over. Mean time probe their defences plus psychological warfare. Keep them awake every night.

Trump was full of bluster while campaigning but has been an under-achiever in the White House.

Of course, an attack on US territory would potentially neuter his opponents while a response was delivered. With China looking on we can expect it to be over-whelming but limited - destruction of military sites, not a full-scale invasion.

After that, we could expect NK to benefit from Chinese-sponsored re-construction and re-arming. Just not to the level where they are now.

But where's the gain for NK?

Keep in mind that you're talking about two children. Whatever "gain" there might be is most likely to be something unexpected, at least to an adult.

NK refused to sign a Peace Treaty to end the Korean War in the 1950s.
The Kim family have pursued a personal vendetta since then against the US.
What was for years laughable has now turned into a real threat and should be taken seriously.
Stomp on the bug before it bites you is about the only choice left.

Vatican outlaws gluten-free bread for Holy Communion

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Bread used to celebrate the Eucharist during Roman Catholic Mass must not be gluten-free - although it may be made from genetically modified organisms, the Vatican has ruled.

In a letter to bishops, Cardinal Robert Sarah said the bread can be low-gluten.

But he said there must be enough protein in the wheat to make it without additives.

The new rules are needed because the bread is now sold in supermarkets and on the internet, the cardinal said.

Roman Catholics believe bread and wine served at the Eucharist are converted into the body and blood of Christ through a process known as transubstantiation.

Glossary of Roman Catholic terms

The wine used must also be "natural, from the fruit of the grape, pure and incorrupt, not mixed with other substances", said Cardinal Robert Sarah of the Vatican's Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.

The ruling was issued at the request of Pope Francis, the letter said.

There are about 1.2 billion Roman Catholics around the world.

Isn't it time the Catholics adopted sensible beliefs ?
Makes religion even more unlikely than ever.

While our Mrs Poodle can't afford pay rises above 1% etc. she is giving £40m to Iraq for the reconstruction of Mosul. Will any of that ever get there anyway ?

£40m? Is that a big number or a small number?
In the Budget for financial year 2016-17 , proposed total UK government spending was £772 billion.
In 2012-13, UK median personal income was approximately £21,000 a year, so in proportion, its like giving a charity collection for helping Iraq a quid.

Crikey! You are not starting on the catholics, now, are you? As if you haven't enough problems.
