What are the best sites offering demo accounts to practice on?

It's quite amusing to read through the entire thread to see how much has changed. Although the notion of a demo account stands, some, but not all, of the brokers mentioned I have never heard of, most likely ceased their operations.

If one is looking for basic introduction to get familiar with whole on-line trading idea, imo one could do worse than one of Finsa Europe brands - a UK one is Corespreads who also offer MT4 besides their simplistic web platform - neither expire.

BTW: though I admire the sentiment expressed in your sig, I'm not at all sure that you can include "gentleman" and "day trader" in the same sentence....some would say that the terms are mutually exclusive
