What are the best sites offering demo accounts to practice on?

[Reason I mention the relationship between Live and Demo is that very often you find that there is not the same alacrity in accepting your trades when you go live and you may also start to get re-quotes on prices. It's also fairly well-known that the Metatrader lessors offer various software tricks to their lessees, some of which give the brokers a lot of control of your trading. Never forget that they can see your whole trade on their screens, limits and stops, a bit like showing your cards to the dealer in a casino./QUOTE]

Exactly my experience with a Demo Forex platform. Much success .....then rude awakening on a real platform, with wider spread , slower fill and current price several pps short of the real market price. For a scalper I found this to be the kiss of death and closed the account pronto. I rekon anything other than true ECN/Direct access to the real interbank rates for forex where the broker makes his money on you paying a commission, to be nothing short of banditry.
If the broker is quoting a spread then he is not only makiing money on that spread but on the market he is creating on his platform

I note with interest that Instaforex cited above have a Eurica Account with no spread and a commision. Only thing that puts me off that is they are Russian. Dont fancy my account in some unregulated trading Gulag!

www.infintyfutures.com want $5000 i think to start trading the Nasdaq e-mini's.....I recently opened a demo account with them and sierra charts and the seem really helpful although I am going to demo FX to start as seems a little more straightforward and less risk! Even if it is demo i want a realistic transition in both exchange and value when I start trading cash! Let me know if you need contact details and I will dig them out as the guy a spoke with was really helpful?!

For demo accounts there are so many brokers like Oanda, Alpari, Fx pro, AvaFX, Etoro and so on.

Anyone know of a demo account that runs the MT4 platform and gives access to indexes (DJI,FTSE etc..), shares as well as Forex ?
I've got a demo account with Alpari, but this only has forex.
Seems like Northfinance was the "daddy" of all demo accounts (as recommended by many on this forum), but they have closed the door on new sign-ups for demos.

Try fxpro.com. They are based in Europe. I don't use them so I'm not recommending them, but they do apprear to offer what you need.

FxPro seem to offer all the markets in their demo and the account has no time limit on it.

you can use vse.marketwatch.com
many people use this for paper trading. you can just sign up and join someone's game. there's rankings too so you can see how you perform amongst others.
i used it before. the only problem i would say is that the transactions are delayed 20 minutes...but better than nothing i guess

We offer free demos for all offered platforms.

X_TRADER, QST, Strategy Runner, and Ninja Trader.

I suggest a data replay program using futures data from the cme. allows one to practice multiple scenarios and won't take up your whole day watching the market. worked for me!

hiya i wonder if anyone can help.i have been using ig index for a few months, and i have wanted to get rid of the guaranteed stop loss, which adds 3 pips to all my trades. I emailed them, and they told me i needed to call them before this would be removed. Does anyone know what it is they ask on the phone? I dont want to be sold anything, or be on the phone for ages, wondered if anyone could help. thanks
