London Academy of Trading

How did you manage that, the LGI website has been down for a while.

I think they have changed their name to London Academy of Trading. Because no traders at LGI have complained about being ripped off. So they have just changed names. Mainly because the bad reputation they got from you.

PBoyles how is your demo account with FX Pro? You still demo trading? Did you ever figure out how to insert a custom indicator into MT4?:LOL::LOL:

PBoyles you are very quick to call companies a scam or give them a bad reputation but you are not a successful trader, because if you was you would not be trading in a demo account now would you.

I think the reputation problem was caused by them initially making claims about instructors qualifications that turned out to be somewhat exaggerated. This was made worse by them trying to argue their way out of it rather than fix the issue. I dont recall saying they were a scam, in fact when I search that thread you were the one asking if it was a scam.

Actually I have a couple of demo accounts, FXPro is handy because it never expires so you can test out longer term trades. It can be difficult to insert custom indicators at times, still I find it interesting to try out different things every now and again when I'm bored.

Well they were very up front with me, you pay for a selected course, do the theory, pass an exam then do some mentored trading. I am on the understanding that they employ people that show potential within the mentored trading period.

Dont want to get stung but i want a path into becoming a trader

make your own path my friend......that one will be a dead (and eventually expensive) End !!

I have completed this so called trainee position which is just a course and out of all the students I have met in all the classes nobody has made a profit and have been dropped. The techniques are purely technical nothing more than what you get free on the net. This company promises you everything to take your money. PLEASE if anyone is considering this SCAM DO NOT DO IT!! There is no future and progression with London Academy of Trading formally London Global Investments now Aldersgate trading.

Well EricReed what do you have to say about that? Another competitor slagging them off? What's your excuse this time?

You could be right. Nice teeth by the way.

If trading really "worked" then why would anyone teach you how it works?

I mean essentially if there was a "secret" trading method, other then a calculated guess, why would the vendor sell it?

Well, they want to make safe money by taking fees from those who want to learn it. I think this kind of training shows the beginners a way in but its really down to the individual how to interpret and advance the training they receive.

I think that's kind of the main theme for new traders taking training.

You hear lots of people saying that paying for training wasn't very good, it didn't make them an overnight millionaire or that they still had many years of learning afterwards.

But, you do quite often hear things like "If I didn't take the training course than I would never have stuck it out" or "the training course got me started in the right direction".

Whatever training company people go for I think people should just be aware that there is still many months hard work, and no short cuts.

I think a brand new trader does need help with direction in their learning, I would recommend a training course aimed for beginners that teaches using software, technicals, money management and a few proven strategies to get them started. Most importantly, a cheap one that doesn't pretend to offer a whole lot more just by charging thousands of pounds.

I think a new trader is better off paying a small amount for a good beginners course, going through the process and then investing their own funds in themselves once they have had plenty of practise and experience in the markets. Don't be fooled by salesmen and "secrets of a millionaire trader" type scams, there are no secrets, there are no short cuts, there is only learning. Learning about yourself.

If trading really "worked" then why would anyone teach you how it works?

I dont really know, but some people do. There's even 2 or 3 threads at the zoo that teach extremely sound methods.

The whole concept of something "working" is a complete minefield, and probably the first barrier that most people need to overcome.

Mate, don't do it. I've gone through the process of meeting with them earlier this month, and it turns out after I asked a few too many questions she's just flat out ignored my e-mails.

They're scam artists, & I'm glad I didn't waste my money. Actually hate them for wasting my time & money getting into London for their 'meeting'. Pile of **** if you ask me.

there is no secrets in this industry, but surely getting taught by traders and the experience can only be good? you can go to uni pay £27K and not get a job or make money in this day and age! its all down to how you trade.

you can take a horse to water, but you cant make it drink!

LAT is the best out there from what ive seen and read up on.

London Academy of Tarding will be the best when pigs fly - outta my ass!

It seems every time a topic appears about some dubious company offering training for money we seems to get a bunch of new posters joining up promoting it. The obvious shills in this thread are obvious...

The people who own/start these companies dont know how to trade.
So they see a loop hole, realise people want to get into trading, employ someone who knows a bit, and can charge large amounts for him to train them.
So they are not selling it as an alternative to making money themselves by trading, but as a way for them to get money out of this industry because they cant trade.

Agree a lot with these comments, but when I was looking to take part in training I felt that the online lectures that you pay for is even more of a scam? I think if you want to learn there is so much info in books and online for free

Thats exactly what I and others keep telling people and try to protect newbies.

London School of Trading.......Greg.....Darren .......Rob......Vince ......Jason **.....the list is endless..... and more always to come .....

ya gotta lovem .......most people here at T2W with a considerable combat years under their belt know the score with trading ......its hard and unforgiving but can be profitable if you persevere, find your edge and continue to apply solid consistent principles and practices ....but its hard and returns can be unpredictable at times as the Market can be a fickle friend....

these guys know that ....they're not stupid believe me ........and actually I have no doubt they have or could be very very good traders ......but they have also decided to create income streams from building networks and systems that persuade people they need to pay them for Trading Training...and of course they are very very good at selling and marketing this training ......

and that business will be consistently more lucrative and profitable than trading if leveraged correctly

I used to be very resentful of these guys .....in fact if you look back at my Correlation thread a few years back I ran a long campaign against **Jason Fielder who seemed to "discover" his Correlation Code system about a year after I published and shared here (for free) a lot of ideas about this style of strengthmeter training .....

and after talking to others it seemed to be spookily in line with my freely shared ideas on the thread (although his was more naive and "dumbed down" in many ways which weakened the messages I try to portray but maed tghen easier to sell......) and he was adding a $2k kicker being charged for some simple Free indicators....in fact it fell short of the mark in many many ways in my opinion ....but he naturally sold shedloads to mainly unhappy customers if you around the forums on the unofficial feedback (I know he had alledgedly 4,000 people on one webinar.....4,000 !)

But what the hell............thats life.......you walk your own path

So whats my point ?

Guys - we Just continue to alert people to the fact that the initial path in Trading is available free on-line and from the great Trading books out there that again are all available if newbies search for forums on "best tradign books"

so again on behalf of some of the old school here.......

NEWBIES

Spend 6 months to a year reading , researching Forums and learning and playing with Demo Accounts - all FREE !!

by then (hopefully) the magic has faded and one can make logical and sensible choices regarding any mentoring or advanced training one requires .........the Holy grail is inside you and will be unique to you....this is not a copycat based business opportunity ...its based on leveraging your own traits and talents and applying them to the business of Trading

all the best.....and please buy my megatron whoopsy trading system if I ever decide to go to the Dark side
