April '04 Forex

Current position:

EUR S 1.1873 +32 pips
Cable S 1.7846 +91 pips

This little piggy's going to the bank! :cheesy:

1.7740 looks vital for the bulls. its had several stabs at it thus far. if it goes, then a sure test of 1.7700 ??

chart to follow.

Johnny I modified it a bit so I wait for 09 pips to confirm the movement and it was only 5. But thanks to your system I got 30 pips

No the system was long at 1.1910 on the futures.

Well, I am glad I didn't see your signal because I see no long given on fxcm chart. Short is shown on the chart though JT.

I use closing prices so can only assume future's chart is different?

Neil

FXCM charts show that you should have been triggered long @1.1925 at 10:07

jonny is correct. and yes i did get triggered for yet another -35 lol.

Due to my cold I am not paying enough attention  :

The 10am bar closed on 1908.

The 11am bar closed on 1889

Thus I did not consider a long triggered ( I count a trade as triggered or not according to the close of the 11am bar - perhaps this is not as per JT's hourly system??)

The low of the 7am bar was broken by the 2pm bar on 1.1872
So I am now short.

:D sniffle. ( As he rips another paper towel from his kitchen roll)
Wife says I should get a box of tissues cos it's more civilised

what's one of these called?

ok guys, im not terribly hot on names of TA patterns.

what is one of these things called? descending diagonal?

best answer wins a mars bar. and im assuming that it is mega-bearish , as all of the up moves are limited in length, if not flat corrections.

still short hoping for 1.7700 :)

sorry to hear aboutt he cold Neil.

yup, seems as though you are using a variation on JT's system.

his orignal methods, before it became diluted/tinkered on here used the ENTIRE range of values from 7am-10am, so we would be using the high of 1.1908 ish.

hope this helps, and get well soon :)

no, i thought bear flags sloped upwards?? or is that a bear-trap?

oh knackers. who devised these names?

cant we just group them all and have "up-patterns" and "down-patterns". would be so much easier!!

Good morning all.

I had a good day yesterday. :cheesy:

EUR S 1.1873 covered 1.1849 +24 pips
Cable S 1.7846 covered 1.7743 + 103 pips

FC, I'm beginning to forget the taste of marrowbone jelly! No doubt, the market will give me a reality-check today.

Good trading yesterday.

I recall reading somewhere that you trade through a SB company - is that correct? If so, who and how are their spreads?

Thanks m8.

im favouring a huge sell off if we get below 1.7650 today. its been support for the past few weeks, and if it goes, i think i is evidence that the downtrend is back on track.

Goobs, i use capitalspreads, as it is one of the few platforms that gets through my firewall here at work lol.

its a right pain though as you cant place orders within 10pts of the current price, which makes slippage a bit of a problem when trading breakouts.

eg, if at 9.59 the price is closing near the high of the 7-10am range, i cant put an order on a few pips away in order to set-up the JT method, as it were.

bit of a pain, but i can live with it.

time for some charts/thoughts
