So we have a major tournament every 2 years ... I think that is well enough.

Plus of course the Champions League which arguably is a better tournament than either the World Cup or the Euros.

As I said Split, they are a 1-0 side.

They dance around like fairies and never shoot when they get near goal.

With their undoubted skill they should and could have won 5-0 but they prat around when they get near goal.

I have no affinity at all for Spain and the Spanish so I hope they lose to Van Broken-Horse, Van Pommel-Horse et al on Sunday, even though I reckon the Dutch are a dirty side. I would even support England against Spain and that's saying something.

At least Holland play like cart-horses ( or should I say van-horses ) and not a bunch of gay ballet dancers.

Yes, I will be glad when this charade is over and I can watch some Rugby again .. that's a proper game.

Spain is difficult to beat for one very good reason

Xavi, Iniesta, Piquè, Pedro, Busquets, Puyol plus another who I should remember and can't plus the goalkeeper all come from Barça.

BS from Ambrose apart, do you realise what that means? These guys have been playing club football week in, week out, together for at least a season and, probably, more.

The expertise can be seen on the pitch and del Bosque is a clever manager to spot that advantage.

They know each others styles better than any other of the other teams.

Barça is a club that brings young Spaniards on and, playing together, they are almost impossible to beat when playing national teams.

It's a lesson for other clubs, especially the English side. Rooney is used to playing with foreigners alongside him but, in the World Cup, they are playing in other teams.
