While anything can and should be anticipated, I try to trade what I see.
Managing risk is managing the unknown, it is easy to fill this unknown with false details which can be costly if they make us hold a loosing trade beyond the established SL scenario.

Why would I trade what I cannot see?
Do not trust the "Official" media, look at the available data. It is interesting that USD is so strong against other currencies who supposedly do not print that much helicopter money. What does it tell you?
Trading indices I also use VIX and volume together with some other instruments to have a limited intermarket perspective.
Scalping - duration of a trade as short as possible M1 - M5
Intraday - larger PT but reacting to trend change on M1 - M5 - M30
Intraweek - looking at trend on M30 - H1 - H4 and Daily
Trend always in relation to TF and PT too.
Have not been that much on T2W lately.
