Ukraine invasion

John Pilger's no fool and has done good journalism where others didn't want to poke their noses in. However, his starting point on every issue on every continent is that US foreign policy is evil.

This is tedious. The foreign policies of every state are self-serving, and if you regard that as evil then every state is evil. So does he see the US as the most evil state because its more powerful than the rest or better at foreign policy than the rest? Probably both are true. But this isn't great logic, since every other state would dearly love to be as powerful and effective as the US.

I suspect he just hates capitalist democracy. I'd love to know what he is for, hearing what he is against is just the same old record.

I reckon he is just in it for the truth.

His profession is journalism and he has a passion, I'd go as far as saying an intrinsic compulsion in his DNA for doing what is right and speaking the truth. Do you not think or believe this is possible in a human being?

If the US was let's say well behaved then he'd be reporting on other injustices in other areas. Access and proximity no doubt have a determining factor in what he reports on too.

The problem with truth telling reporters is, they can only report what they have access too. So China and Russia are off limits in terms of truth.

Much easier to slag off Western so called democracies rather than try getting to any truth inside propagandised closed countries.

I don't say he tells lies., I just think he selects the sexiest truths he wants to tell.

He reports the negative things the US are doing because it will have a wide circulation and generate a lot of income. He doesn't report what's happening in other parts of the world because the western public, his market, aren't interested in that.

Compared to other journalists he also adopts a crusading compassionate profile. Which is nauseating.

and

Russia cuts gas to Germany. No need for German sanctions. (y)

fwiw - I really think Germany has lost her way. I wonder if Merkel would have responded differently?

Planned shutdowns for maintenance happen every summer. Nothing to see here until supplies resume or not. If they don't resume, then Russia is weaponising energy, just like Trump warned them. Either way, Germany is fukt, they have completely the wrong mix to ensure energy security and zero time to do anything about it.

They were speculating to get the gas much cheaper through Nord Stream 2. No transfer fee payments, better prices as the German company Winterhall has the drilling licence.

That's also why the storage was not full when the invasion started.

It's very interesting, that they invented the missing certification to prevent Nord Stream 2 from starting to be used weeks before (!) the Russian invasion.

The current German government does not go for the interests, aims and benefits of the German or European people, it's really like an U.S. colony. Nobody could talk or even think about activating Nord Stream 2 which would solve the gas problems for whole Europe. Looks like they want to fool the people as everybody seems to have Alzheimer's disease in the last stage.

Edit:
Merkel had to go before they could play this game, constructed by Hillary and Joe.

Let's be fair ref...

You can't call it Sanctions on one side and Weaponisation on the other.

What you say makes perfect sense here. Based on Merkel past leadership, I don't think she would have put up with this nonsense and would put Germany and Europe first to US meddling.

I dont' think Merkel had been able to stop Russia meddling with Ukraine.
Unfortunatelly the only way to stop the Tzar is with weapons.

Unfortunately nonsense.

The invasion would not have come with Trump and/or Merkel. It took the right knowledge-free dumbass on the right chairs in the West.

Unfortunatelly the only way to stop the Tzar is with weapons.
That cannot work as Russia has better systems, there is not even a chance as long as NATO keeps out. The US did not invest in new systems, but in biolabs and other forbidden stuff.

Looking at Merkel's leadership Europe and relations with Russia thrived. Germany benefited and gained much from that relationship as well as EU securing strategic resource supplies.

I agree Biden / Tories / a select few power-hungry politicians are key to how this fiasco has unfolded.

I don't think Scholz will last long... German population are smart. He will not get a 2nd term imo.

This is like watching a cartoon show.

Ooohhhhh...

Blinding the common man.

I think you should carefully watch and listen tthe clip above in Timsk post re: The New Atlas.

It has far more detailed and factual, realistic information. With references and headlines from the Western media. He was in the US army and has experience of what is like to be trained and battle ready.

What is potent in that message is the West will fight this war in Ukraine to the last man. It's human fodder. US and the West have no interest in saving Ukraine or Ukrainian lives. That is clear to see.
