New Trades Thread

I agree that timing is everything. My method is to hold for 15 to 30 mins so you need a good entry.Do you always only trade the above method or do you have others.

your method should depend on your objective..horses for courses..you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear:)

here is what i do..i have my basic method..for daytrading..tried and tested..it works..and will always work..but..as mentioned..it is your head that will screw you up..not your method

hh and i are in discussion..he has recently disagreed with my take on the brain being more powerful than the computer..and..if i believe what i am saying bout your head screwing you up..he is cotrect

we both have something to share..which might just make life a bit easier for both of us..that is what discussion is all about..not silly ridiculous statemenrs bout things that do not really matter

i know of several ways to risk money..and hh and i are going to test some of them..i will put up the reasoning..hh will put up the mathematical calculations..as..everything can be whittled down to maths..that is a well known fact

let us see what develops..but no vendors allowed:)

There was a spike up 118.84. It is trading around 117.94. Did you manage to close with a profit before this happened.

He was in after the spike as it came back off. A great fade trade, target I reckon for him was a minimum of 118.10/00 - not that I'm aware of how he trades. Maybe even 117.60 for the completion

But you can see that on his chart and time stamp of post though:)

That's fine. I was asking if he closed the trade yet. It would be a very good if he managed to closed the order in low 117 region.

@Fugaszy;

Did you use a predefined profit taker order or did you close manually? I generally use a predefined sell price if I am not watching closely that day.

sorry just got up:

closed at +95.

it is all on the chart, historical entry and exit.

Sorry no spike on my chart, do you mean soon after the news release? Yes there was a spike but I entered after that as soon as the spread came to normal....

Not bad. 0.95/118.68 = 0.8%. If I understand your post correctly.

No predefined profit, markets are like women, they like the attentions but they also like to be left alone.......

Most of my money comes from an handful of trades and this trade is classic example, I took the trade, went in my direction, moved SL to BE and went to bed with a another woman.......

Many things could have happened, I cannot control that, I did what was needed to be done and let things be, this time it worked well, many time does not or works less well but I am not worried about that.

Yes you are right a good fade trade, but I am aware of those moves and I wait for them:

Volatility was present, prices got to the extreme, here I am always interested, prices stalled, started to pull in, got in, placed my SL at the extreme, prices moved quickly in my direction, moved my SL to BE, gone to bed which is a major part of the strategy.

Not bad. 0.95/118.68 = 0.8%. If I understand your post correctly.

Not bad at all - with moderate leverage, entry 118.68 - stop at extreme 118.88 = 20pts (2% account risk), trade closed @73 for 95 pips = 9.5% gain.

Molto Bene
Un altro, per favore - Lunedi? (If the flag is anything to go by!)

How did you come to that calculation did you leverage a lot? 100 pips to a yen. 118.68-0.95=117.73

Comé hai calcolato quello?

If you bought 10,000 USD/JPY @ 118.68 = ¥1,186,800/117.73 = $10,080.68
$10,080.69/$10,000 = 1.008 = 0.8%.

If you leveraged 12:1, then you would 9.6%.
120,000 USD/JPY @ 118,68 = ¥ 14,241,600/117.73 = $120,968 - (12*10,000) = $968/$10,000 = 9.6%

Absolutely awesome. "Went to bed with anyone"? I hope you mean that figuratively.

I showed a trade, money is not the issue here and it is personal....

You should be more interested in why I took this trade and which were my thoughts during the process...which I partially explained....

If you go and look at the chart and would like to ask more questions in regard I will be very happy to guide you further.
