Please post here your questions, comments, suggestions and feedback. As with all website upgrades/makeovers/new versions, it's going to take a bit of time to get used to the new site and figure out how to make the most of its shiny new features - myself included. Over the next few days I'll be posting some insights into the new features that members will actually want to use.

I dont appear to be able to multi quote in reply. Only the last 'quote' is posted.

How odd, I just tested it now and it works fine for me, I'm on Chrome on Mac. So when you click the " Quote button on multiple posts and then click 'Insert quotes' on the quick reply at the bottom of the page, it only inserts the last quote? Do you get the pop-up window when you click 'Insert quotes' that let's you review the selected messages and rearrange them? Anyone else having this problem?

I've fixed the Youtube links from before the migration which were showing up as just url links - now they're embedded in the posts as before. Also mentions like @Sharky from before the migration display correctly (they were showing up as plain bbcode). Anything else weird, do report here.

Doh! I was expecting it to work as on the previous site.

Just tried it with the insert quotes and it works for all of them. (y)

Aww yes, it changed, I'm planning to post some quick guides to the new features which aren't always obvious. Glad it's all fine!

What the hell just happened?

Oh, seemed like a Saxo pop-up advert. Not keen on that. Here's hoping they don't become too frequent.

Probably a dumb question coz I've only just discovered the makeover - how long has it been live? Anyway, is there any indicator showing that a thread has received new posts that I haven't read? And is there any easy way of navigating to the first unread post?
What I mean is something like the green arrow icon that we used to have in the previous version. If a thread had a green arrow then I knew there were new posts, and clicking on the arrow would take me to the first unread post.
E.g. looking at The Foyer > Joke of the day, we have three buttons 224 / 225 / 226. But these are all posts that I've read before, and there are no new, unread posts in this thread...

That's the overlay we had on the old site too for non-logged in members, it shows just once a day. I still need to remove it when browsing on mobile though, that'll be happening this week.

It only went live on the early hours of Sunday morning (UK time).

Yeah, so first off you can still 'Mark forums read' as before; then you have the NEW badge on the forums that have new thread, and when you click on that forum, the new threads titles are coloured red (that's what you need to look for), if you click on the title it'll automatically you to the newest post you haven't read. Of course you need to be logged in for all this to happen. There's no quick link anymore just to go the last post, but you can click the last page number underneath the thread title.

Just to add, everything is configurable/customisable; the more feedback I get, the more I'll be able to judge what to tweak.

Having said that, I just got the advert myself - so there's definitely a gremlin in the system, going to look into it.

Ok, thanks for getting back so quickly.
If I click on a red thread title where I know I've read some posts then I nevertheless get taken to post #1. So it looks like the system doesn't "remember" which posts I'd read from before the makeover?
I guess that means you have to "Mark forums read" to get the "Go to first unread post" function working. Is that correct?

Ahh thank you.
An answer to a question I didnt even know I should have asked. My home page looks a lot better now.

I like the new upgrade, its functions and other arrangements, really great improvement!!!
Especially I value the editing option for the posts, very important for the first/setting posting of the given thread.

Just made first post (since the upgrade) on Delta Phenomenon thread, it is so much easier to attach charts.

Are there that same arrangements similar to the ones that existed to the "private forum" on the old version, like the approved members able to post on a specialised/private forum.

Edit 1.
I just have read the note re Specialist's Corner. There is a restriction, like it has been before. Thank you for seeing to that.
It is not that I do not like members to post, but the concept of Delta Phenomenon is a contentious one and I think that uneducated questions and comments will not add any value to the tread, and are capable to cause time waist (IMHO).

Great work Sharky!!!

Thanks @2be! It's always tricky to get a site redesign right, but I've done enough in my time to know what generally and what doesn't. So by keeping things mostly familiar but vastly improving usability, it's a win-win for everyone.

The ability to just drag and drop images/files into the post box is a huge time saver, glad you like it!

I've got the Articles live here: https://www.trade2win.com/articles, you'll see the new tab at the top of the page. There's still some work to be done to get it into shape, such as images on the list of articles, and categorisation. But all the articles have been moved over, the old urls to them still work, as does the links of comments on the forum thread.

Hey Sharky, Great job on the new look! Ive been looking around trying to find the setting to make the posts in threads appear in reverse order. i.e. most recent post at the top? If you could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

Thanks!

Really glad you like it Iceman! So, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but reversing the order of the posts isn't currently supported by the new forum software. It's in pretty active development though and we'll be keeping up to date with all the new releases, so hopefully it won't be too long before they implement it.

Thanks Sharky. Looking forward to further developments and new releases as they happen!
