CMC Markets - Next Generation Platform

Ross

i have run my old TT against the prospreads platform and it mirrors the same prices, if they are not DMA then i would be amazed as the fill's and fast execution if second to none. It's ok saying about the spreads that some sbetters offer may look better, but as i have said before it's maybe not getting into the trade it's the getting out that really matters, this is where the other guy's dont honour there spread( they know your position so make the market accordingly) , thats why they are far much better than all the rest, also i like seeing my orders actually changing the volumes of the underlying market, you dont see that anywhere else, that's why i beleive they are DMA.

I don't doubt the speed of Prospreads, PP, but I thought it had been established here that although the prices were exactly as per the 'real' market, orders weren't actually entered there automatically, as they may have been before the LCG takeover? In other words, PS fill instantly, but then only hedge strategically, same as other SBs, except that you pay more spread for the speed.

that's why i beleive they are DMA.

Heads up and learn !

NO SPREAD BET COMPANY IS DMA ( direct narket access )

The SB company gets the DMA Feed to there systems then thats put onto there platform at different rates from DMA rates thats the first way they make there money.
Second way they make money is then in the spread which is not worth there time and thats why you see tight spreads on SB firms and now I see a firm with NO SPREAD.

Then if you compare a real DMA Chart feed to SB charts you see spikes but SB spike that bit extra to hit stops. IT HAPPENS

DMA - You Sell Forex there is a real person in the market buying your sell
SB - You Sell Forex your broker is taking your BET, then hedging on DMA AGAINST YOU

Real DMA sites http://tradingacademy.com/about-us/Partners.aspx

Wake up and smell the coffee lol

Just to add if you can short on a UK stock then your spread betting

You can only Short on DMA if you a UK Institution in the UK. NO retail client can Short stocks in the UK.

To Short UK stocks has to be on DMA outside the UK

Did anyone get the email from CMC:

As part of our continual improvement programme, we have just released our latest update to your next generation spread betting platform. It features a number of improvements including new trailing stops.

If you are an iPhone user, you'll need to upgrade to version 1.1 of the CMC Markets iPhone App to be able to use the trailing stops. For the web version, you just need to login to see the enhancements.

What's new?

In addition to our brand new trailing stops, the latest upgrade to the platform includes:

News upgrade - join us on the web platform every working day for the Morning Call - find out what's happened and what's likely to move the markets... and it's not just the mornings, we've also added a lunchtime and market-close update
Charting improvements - we're busy working away to bring you market-leading charts* - current improvements include the ability to zoom charts and scroll vertically - but there's much more to come
New on the iPhone - streaming charts with a new 5 second interval

To be fair would be quite impressive (if it was a beta platform)

Maybe some kind of support forum for CMC?

Like ninja or alpari
I don't blame PC for leaving the forum, but these ranters always come in groups and vanish when they have been exposed for what they are. I think PC should come back.

Come back and do what, avoid answering questions when uncovered that he's going against own statements? You need to learn to think. This platform sucks, and there's plenty or reasons why unless you haven't got it yet.

1: The platform closes down in busy times.

2: Useless charts and a purposely built cumbersome designed trading platform.

3: Slow executions.

4: Slippage galore.

5: No slippage control.

6: Constant disconnections forcing you to re-log in.

7: No requotes if price moves against you, so you get filled where THEY say you do, not at the price you want.

Most important factor that made PC run for the door: We have NO control over what price we get filled at and the fill times are getting much slower, not what he stated we should get. Not every trade is filled as proven with screen shots of rejected traded and market suspensions.
We are putting our money in their hands, a company that profits from our losses, and has a terrible past for doing just that, so much they had to change their name from Deal4Free to CMC. So you see the price, you click the buy/sell button, THEY decide if you get in sooner of later, there's no slippage control (I asked several times for this and was ignored, I wonder why) no requote because the price has apparently moved from the price we requested. It's a Casino way to trade. If you like the rush of gambling go ahead, they will clean you out and move on to the next mug.

Glee, quiet frankly I don't understand why you want him back, he was only using this site as a selling platform it was very obvious. I suggest you open a live account and trade with them, give it a month and I would bet you will be another unhappy customer unless you're a swing trader and don't mind being slipped a few pips every trade. If you're a scalper or day trader who relies on accurate pricing, forget it.

To add, when CMC were Deal4Free and had their Market Maker platform, they had their own closed private forum that you accessed through the live trading platform itself. It was closed down because of too many threads created by unhappy clients. Surprised?

Because frankly, you don't add much to the discussion.:)

As it happens, TS, I agree with much of what you said about Next Gen. In its present form it does have various faults that detract from its useability. Hopefully, the updgraded version arriving soon will be improved, thanks partly to feedback from posters here. We can all try it and if it's still not right, vote with our feet and go elsewhere.

In the meantime, why don't you just stop raving on about CMC?

No answer on my question? I will repeat it.
Can you set the stop in points on the Market Maker platform?

Sorry your Royal Highness for the late reply, but I do I have a life outside of T2W to tend too. No, you couldn't set the stop in points, they had the more professional way of having to specify a price.

What I thought.:). This is definitely a security risk in my opinion, fiddling around with the stop loss in figures, error is bound to occur. City has the same problem, very well accustomed with the hazard of doing this.
