Trump Presidency and the Consequences

/

I wasn't making an argument...
Unfortunately, I am outnumbered on this forum when it comes to Trump because most of them don't live here in the US to see the good that he has done. Of course he's not perfect but no president ever was or will be.

Pete I live in the U.S.
I'm not sure about the good he has done but it's clear he's being sabotaged. This is from the right and left. There are two sets of ideas at war as of right now in the U.S.
you essentially have those who think that america will continue to be america being the global hub of trade & the international policeman...but then there are those who are saying America should go back to the 20th century where it was sovereign and did not have control over international events. If you look at the world today, China and Russia have essentially learned very well from Americas rise to power. With Syria, North Korea, Ukraine and the South China sea it all seems like there are no solutions. We could build up surrounding nations as proxies with economic investments then squeeze china and russia of their livelihood or we could go full scale war in Crimea or north korea but this would require massive time and resources. I've concluded that America will realize that the long game and will fix itself internally and focus less on 20th century tactics. By fixing infrastructure, decrease debt and improve middle class income this will attract more trade and respect from other nations. HOWEVER, this administration only has the correct ideas and isn't capable of activating any of the god damn policies. The good news is that Trump has unmasked those who are against the sovereignty of the U.S. so the next guy who may be able to the unwind americas connection to international drama will be able to recognize the decepticons....the american engine is real the sad thing is that we only read about it and I'm interested in just seeing a glimpse. What changed my mind on this whole trump fiasco was the oliver stone interviews. When Mr. stone was promoting the putin interviews you can clearly see the bias with cbs morning news/charlie rose/stephen colbert/abc news.........I thought the liberal elite crap was just made up but it's real and they are much bigger than I ever imagined.

lol

 And his dietary supplements, toothpaste, bulletproof vests and "brain pills".

White supremacists are always good for a laugh.

he is a character no doubt.....I think that his fans don't know that he admitted in court that he's really a performance artist and not really reporting news lol
Joe rogan got him drunk in one of his podcasts, hands down one of the best videos.

I agree with THAT.

Although I agree the 1970s hippies went too far with their drugs and Liberal views, I think thy are a valuable part of the whole. And why ? Because the Fascist alternative should not be allowed to run amok as they did in the 1930s. Their cruelty etc. was beyond belief.

Pat, the liberal system may be socially superior to the conservative model but it is definitely not superior when it comes to an economic sense. Michelle Bachelet came into office in 2014....she's as liberal as they come and even though she's credited for bringing chile into the 1st world during her introductory presidential terms.....the country as we know is collapsing with her new reforms. As of August 31 the whole economic team resigned. We're not talking about economic theories .....the effect of increasing taxes on companies will destroy an economy and is happening right now.

I agree some Liberals can get quite stupid with their views and are likely to be a danger to the country's economy, just like the Socialists. But it's no coincidence that most of the money ends up in the pockets of the right wing.
Ideally there is a happy balance between the systems.

Trickle-down economics has done so well by us for the last forty years.

I remember there was a time when the US used to promote democracy and competition.
But now Trump is virtually admitting that the competition is too strong. He is going for 19th century protectionism by tariffs.
Even the democratic institutions in the US are under threat as Trump muzzles the free press etc. I think this is his reaction to the speed in which countries like China are catching up, mainly economically but also militarily.

Trickle down doesn't work either.....we've seen it happen again and again.
The rich will not share....this is something we have to contend with....the universal basic income study in europe just came out and it doesn't look good. In order to replicate the same success as they had with the indian study governments need to disburse much more $$$$$.....this would be impossible in the great Ol' USA.
If they implement QE with SBA loans and hand out free money as the fed did with large corporations fraud would run rampant. I think that western nations are trying to find a solution within the capitalistic system and no one is questioning capitalism itself.

I think basic Capitalism is very questionable on moral and humane issues. Most of the wealth is undoubtably in the hands of the few. The rest can go hang as long a there are some to do the hard work. Now with the robots even their future is in doubt. It is blatant in the US as the workers are too brainwashed with the US dream and cowed from losing the industrial battles of the past. Anywhere else there would be a revolution.

Pure capitalism would say a safety net of benefits for poor people is a waste of money. Would you feel comfortable if your neighbour was starving ? I hope not.

If my neighbor was an out of work illegal alien or just someone who refuses to work for whatever reasons, then I don't really care much. They say the USA is the land of opportunity, so no excuses...take advantage of it.
