I've hired desk space in the pianoclub The Piano Club - Rent a Desk | Rent Office Brixton | Office Space to Let Brixton | Rent Office Space in Brixton, works out to approx £355 incl VAT.
Is open plan office, would be good to have fellow traders around to form an enclave as let's face it, we don't have too much in common with creatives who are teeming around offices at the moment!
PM me if interested or just contact the office people yourself.
Please note I don't work for the piano club or get any kickbacks etc. Just thought it would be a good idea if traders could connect in an office environment and share ideas etc as we all have this interest in common, and it pretty much baffles/bores others (in equal amounts).

Cheers,
bootsy

Update-there is now another trader that has just joined who contacted me via this message.
We sit next to each other-bouncing ideas off each other and generally pissing off the creatives around us in this shared office. Only joking, everyone is very nice and friendly, lets get some more traders in here!

Unable to give up the travel s still part time in both jobs SPLD, for me its the best of both worlds :)

Yeah just saw that elsewhere. Best way too, nice stable-ish income to see you through the inevitable wild times that one has to endure.(y)

I'm just up the road in Streatham Hill.
What kind of traders are you? Just wondering if I would fit in. I only make 2-3 trades today on average. Most of my time is really developing new ideas rather then actually trading my own strategy. Would i suit or are you more sort of high volume traders?

Hey ffsear, we trade on average 2 times per day so I think you would fit in nicely and as you say the rest of time is spent working on ones edge

we are both at the moment but will be back next week from tuesday, maybe pop in in the afternoon if your free or just contct Lauren and she will show the office

Hi there, i'm interested in a trading environment, i just left a trading room, ive read a couple of books on trading to do with candlestick analysis and look mainly at the uk 100, any chance of popping over and having a chat?

All right there people, we're now up to three traders in Brixton, covering fx, SandP and bunds and the Dax.
You know it makes sense so get out of your bedrooms/studies and let's talk stops, reversals, support and resistance, bulls and bears and shorts and longs to confuse everyone else around us!!

Again, please note that no training is being offered-we're all friendly enough but have our own systems/styles that are approximately similar, but we're not looking to be mentors. We're just after a good environment where we can share ideas/chat to each other about market stuff (and other things obviously).

Hi, I'm also looking for deskspace. I trade UK equities and have a 2x2 screen setup. Is anyone else using a multi screen setup and is there enough space ? How do you find the internet connection ? Dont suppose any of you trade US as I was thinking of coming to have a look but wouldn't be able to get there till around 6.30pm
Thanks Cam

I'm home based up the road in Clapham and find it difficult to get enthusiastic about commuting (OK, only 10 mins), set business hours and additional cost.

Do you gentlemen paying for office space feel there is a genuine benefit for the expenditure?

I am finding myself much more productive when I am in the office, and also separates your trading life from your home life which is very important from for your sanity I think as a trader, finding that balance is key to a happy state of mind I think

I think you should give it a try if you have never traded outside the home, in any business there is upfront cost and trading should be treated as a business and also as a business you should see an increase in profitability and if not you really have not lost alot with only a rolling one month contract its not a huge investment in your business and if it does not work out then you would not have lost much and can go back to home trading.

Hey there,
Pocrel has a 2 screen set up and I have a 4 screen set up.
Easily enough space, I also have a printer on my desk and still have lots of room.
Not sure if it's clear in my description but it's an open plan managed office (as in managed by someone else). Business network internet connection is included in the price. So one advantage if you have 2 screens (or want more) is that you won't be paying increased electricity costs from home.

Pocrel trades in the afternoon (UK time) and sometimes stays on later for US sessions, I trade all day UK although find it slightly hard to get in for 7.30am. Sometimes I manage it, sometimes not! Need to work on my sleep schedule.
New fella Stephen trades the Dax and Bunds and is in v early in the mornings-trades 6.30am to approx 11am.

I'll be in Tues 2nd April all day from early but leaving about 5ish, might pop in tmrw for the Mon bank holiday for a few hours. If you can make it tomorrow then just reply to this message, reckon 1-3pm would be good for me, otherwise might see you Tuesday.

Agree with Pocrel, separates home/work life, and helps to add discipline to trading. Of course if trading fx then it's technically 24 hours, but then you would hopefully be up and ready to trade at the UK and US market opens and the following few hours whether trading fx or stocks/indices.
Yeah come in and take a look if up for it. As mentioned in another post, if you have a multi screen set up you'll be saving a fair bit on electricity! And if you drink loads of coffee there's a v good free coffee machine to keep you fueled...

Bootsy,

I could do today as I am up there looking @ other places
