Too much junk mail ( snail mail)?

Thanks for that Link chartman to take my name of mailing lists.
But my problem is I am going away for 9 weeks, and with an average of 30 spams a day whats it going to be like when I return!!! As it will take 3 to 6 months for that link to take effect.
Is there some sort of spam prevention programme out there I could use?
Grateful for any replies.

I used to when I had a hotmail account, but neither on BTopenworld, nor Tesco.net do I get any.
