The U.S. stock market Friday closed higher across the board, which the S & P 500 index to close at 1,500 points or more the first time in 5 years and the longest rising since 2004, by Procter & Gamble (P & G), Halliburton and other companies announced better than expected results.
Standard & Poor's 500 rose 8.14 points or 0.5 percent to 1,502.96 points, the highest closing level since December 10, 2007. The index has been increase for the eighth consecutive day, a new high record after the longest rising for nine consecutive days of gains November 2004.
