Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
Welcome to the penultimate week of QTR-3 S&P500 League Competition. We have a very exciting two weeks ahead of us in more ways then one.
I had high hopes for our Samspade79 but he seems to have lost his way after a no-show week7. Despite the poor run he is still in the lead and still has a chance of getting 4 Gold medals on the podium. 5 even
As it stands Gaffs & Pat can beat Samspade and Ibetyou and Timsk can draw. So everything to play for...
Of course there is also Ben, the Fed and QE to entertain us in these dark cold wet and damp evenings.

Sorry for the late write up guys - it's not easy being superman :cheesy:
It has been a good week for the markets and we have four medal winners this week. The top four, with two in joint third place are;

However, the real winner is our super star champ with an unassailable lead is samspade79. I'll leave the celebrations for next weekend as we are still in with a chance to brake the record for taking 4 gold medals in a quarter. Exceptional forecasting.:clap:

NEW YORK, Sept 20 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks fell on Friday as investors digested comments by Federal Reserve officials in the wake of the central bank's decision to maintain its stimulus, but two companies made initial public offerings with stellar results.
Based on the latest available data, the Dow Jones (DJI: ^DJI - news) industrial average was down 174.02 points, or 1.11 percent, at 15,462.53. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 12.65 points, or 0.73 percent, at 1,709.69. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 14.66 points, or 0.39 percent, at 3,774.73.
For the week, the Dow was up 0.6 percent, the S&P 500 was up 1.3 percent and the Nasdaq was up 1.4 percent.

However, he has a chance to win 4 gold medals in a quarter which is a feat not accomplished as yet by any of our esteemed participants.
