Hello. My old laptop is acting up.Message says 'RC battery is low' yet the main battery is fully charged. Is there a 2032 coin battery (or something smaller) somewhere inside that I need to replace as in the PC?
It is highly likley that you are correct. That said you need to be careful as often these batteries are soldered into position as opposed to being able to just be removed as is the case with other electronic equipment.
Solution:
# Detach front grill to reveal winder notch.
# Fit winder to notch.
# Wind up vigorously for 15 mins.
# This will suffice for an hour of normal usage.

Oh, hang-on, you said laptop.
Yes, that'll be an internal battery on the circuit board.
Easily sourced, but replace with great care.
Take all due anti-static precautions before changing.
Maybe it doesn't have one? But I get the error message all the time: Mine is a C50-D not a 'B' but maybe the same innovation? There's a site selling cmos batteries but my laptop is not listed in their hundreds of toshiba models.
It is worth checking YouTube as there will be a video explaining how to find and replace it and if not your exact model there will be a Toshiba that is very similar. Also it is worth trying eBay for a new battery once you know what you need.
