The title says it all really.

Spent the last few days trying to digest as much information as possible while the day job is quiet. Between fib lines, trend lines, channels, spinning tops, hanging mans, hammers, diagonal / horizontal support & resistance as well as 1, 2 & 3 stick indicators I can feel my brain turning to mush. I havent even tried it all out on a trial account yet!!

I'm pretty sure it would be easier if you all just gave me all of your money.

Ok, whos first?

Been there too, my head hurt for years learning it all. Now I find I might as well just do this – (give it a go on demo if you like.)

1. Find a moving market.

2. Buy on the break of a 3 bar high/sell on the break of a three bar low

Done.

Seriously that is a lot to learn and it take many people years before they fully understand it. You are quickly jumping from one thing to the next thing very quickly in which you will get very confused, overwhelmed and understand it less and less. What you need to do is look at something basic like support and resistance, concentrate just on that for a while and learn about it. Once you have got it move onto another indicator then concentrate on that, and so on.

Now I wish someone had told that when I first started....

The foolish farmer says, 'the field is capable of producing 3 acres of wheat but if I continually sow, grow and harvest I can yield 12 and also take an income from my short term profits'. He toils 20 hours a day trying to beat mother nature. He does not water the field enough, he does not feed his crops properly, he doesn't give his crops enough time to grow and he harvests them too soon. If any of his plants die he rips up the entire field and starts again. He uses too many pesticides and fertilisers and spends far too much time operating and maintaining his machinery.

At the end of the year he has yielded half an acres worth of wheat, his land is barren and he is tired, exhausted, worn out and bankrupt.

The wise farmer know his greatest ally is time, the foolish farmer has none. The wise farmer knows his greatest weapon is patience, the foolish farmer cannot wait.

The wise farmer slowly nurtures his field, he prepares, fertilises and waters the ground properly before he begins. Perhaps he strategically sows a few seed to check the fertility of the soil and to test its suitability for the crop. After sowing his seed he cares and carefully nurtures it throughout the year. Each seedling becomes an individual plant but each plant is part of a larger crop. The wise farmer visits the field infrequently but only waters and feeds when necessary. He watches and he waits. If any of his plants start to die he uses this information to assess if he needs to alter anything in his plan.

The year ends and the wise farmer's field yields exactly 3 acres worth of wheat.
The wise farmer sells the wheat, takes a small amount out for costs and expenses and uses the rest to invest in a second field and next years seeds, fertiliser etc.

Earth, nature and time are the wise farmer's friend but the foolish farmer's deadliest enemy.

Don't bother learning that stuff, most of it is a waste of time.

I very much agree to that :)! Read the attachment. I respect everybody's opinion in TA, but I trust it will be somewhat of an eye opener.

So do you think John Carter is full of bull then?

I think you mean that weazel from tradethemarkets.com... Well I don't know him personally, but TtM is nothing more than a salesorganization. I wouldn't give them a penny.

More important however is what I think of TA and that you can read in the document.

I think you must have misunderstood the question. I realise Ttm is a sales organisation.

My question was about John Carter, he proclaims to be a successful trader using TA.
Do you think he is lying?

You know my opinion about TA, that should answer your question.
