And for today 31-08-06 place an order to :

Sell Bellsouth @ 40.84

Book of closed trades

Royal Dutch shell Short 27.84 closed 27.50 + 1.22%

Rols : The stop is an order to close at market at the opening price when necessary. I publish the limit for each trade but not when we opening the trade. For example I published the limit to close ths short on Royal Dutch Shell, and today i'm publish two new limits.

Splitlink : I agree, all of us want to trade ourself, but I don't want to sell signals to many people, I only want to reach an agreement with one big investor, and perhaps after losing a lot of money one of them prefer to track my signals than losing trading himself. Let's see.

pssonice : Thanks for the idea, myabe in the future is there is enough interest with the signals I'll post on the journal too.

Signals for 01-09-06

Hi,

For today 01-09-06 :

Sell Qwest Communications @ 8.90

Hold the other trades with the limits if its the case that have been mentioned in other updates :

Hold Longs Newmont Mining, Halliburton

Hold Shorts Comcast, Bellsouth

Book of closed trades

Royal Dutch shell Short 27.84 closed 27.50 + 1.22%

Daps : about the stops, I don't place stops once a trade is opened. My method has a rule to close a trade when necessary assuming losses. For example if tomorrow we had to close an opened trade the signal would be " close at market at the opening " so it means that at the opening time you have to close the trade at the opening price of that moment.

You not trading SIZE then, if you trading like that.unless you got a million $$$ account.

Leverage and stops

Hi laptop1,

I trade 1:1 leverage as said in some previous posts in this thread. Think about that : imagine that you trade with 1:5 leverage, so with a 10K account you trade 50K per CFD; althogh you place a stop when you open the trade at -1% ( so -$500 ) you can loose all your money, because if you have an opening gap of -20% againts your position due to an afterhours news, -20% of 50K is -10k, in other words you have lost all your money. Conclusion : when trading CFD in my opinion you MUST trade 1:1 leverage or maximum 1:2 although you work some brokers that I believe allow you to guarantee the stop level paying a fee of 0.3%, that in other words means that the broker buy an option to cover your risk with this 0.3% .
Placing stops when you open the trade doesn't mean at all that you can trade 1:3 1:5 leverage when trading CFD. On the other side, in the forex market you can trade 1:3 1:5 because you have a big weekend opening gap a few times per year.

Hi Charlie!!!

when you say you made 25% easy I presume you are talking about return on margin right??? who would you say are some of the worlds best equity traders?? The first name that springs to mind is Steve Cohen at SAC, undeniable one of the best equity trading funds. His average return is 45% net over the last 10yrs or so... so seriously if you made 25% per month you would be the worlds best trader! I dont know how much in terms of size you trade but i sugggest if you want to trade serious bucks, professionally, you got to look at nominal returns, not returns based on leverage trades through margins...this is the industry norm....

difficult question. i dont really know how much margin i employed - i could work it out (#lots x margin), but i was talking about my account balance. like i implied, i dont keep all my money in my trading account. i have another account i use which is really my trading base. i wire money in & out of the trading account in to the base account as needed. one reason for this is basic risk management, the other reasons include not wanting to keep all my trading funds in the dollar (ie worthless paper).

so, although i made 25% on the trading account, in terms of the base account/entire trading capital, it wouldn't be anywhere near 25%. we all know how deceptive figures can be if we present them in certain ways! besides, trading 10-15 lots in eurofx futures is very different to trading 1000 lots in eurofx if i was the size of steve cohen. not many trading methods are that scalable.

whos the best equity trader? how longs a piece of string!!? difficult to compare steve cohen who i think is a long term speculator to an equally successful (% returns) as a scalper.

You're not really telling us anything. How do you think an investor would even consider investing with you?

You are just listing trades. How big are these trades? Are they all the same size even for the most volatile stocks? How could you possibly expect an investor to trust you without a risk and money management strategy?

Good luck finding that fool to depart with their money, I know they are out there.

JDR : You think i'm only listing trades, but if you review my first posts you will see that all the trades have to be executed with 1:1 leverage, so you have the volume for all trades. And if you track my entry signals, place the limits when I publish them, and close at market as stop when I tell you, then you are able to obtain the same performance as listed on the book of closed trades, because I publish the signals before the opening of the market. Easy and simple.

EDIT: Did have further comments, but really cannot be bothered continuing the discussion. I know I would never give you my money.

Good luck with your paper trading.
