Hi all,
Doing the final bit of updating my protection following the SS Furer posts.
Just installed winpatrol (thx Oatman ) and it has found
Livenote.exe in my startup files, and no other info on it is available
It is situated in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Does any know if this is a real XP PRO start up program or something I should delete?

Thanks,
hampy

Hampy, if it's not causing you any problems, leave it ! I trust you have a full and clear understanding of the registry i.e. HKeys, if not be aware you can do an awful lot of damage, IMHO use the control panel, good luck...............

livenote.exe is an application used to update Asus graphics card drivers. If you have a firewall you may notice it trying to connect to ftp.asus.com.tw(210.59.147.153) or something like that?

I think if it is removed, it wont do any harm to your machin, but like WheezerGeezer says, if you don't know the registry well you can cause a lot of damage by changing things.

Thx Adrian,
I have an ASUS motherboard so thats answered my question.
cheers,
hampy
