Just looked at Optiver application form for Trader position

We are given the option to attach a motivation letter but there is also a mandatory field further down Titled " Motivation*" ...

Are these two different things?Instead of attaching it, can't I just paste the motivation letter in the space provided under motivation*?

I may be wrong but it might just be there as an option to either attach as a document or copy and paste rather than 2 seperate things. If not then it sounds daft.
