An interesting subject.

Personally, I think it is largely cultural. People are mostly a blank state at birth, neither natural killers or natural non-killers. How they develop thereafter will depend upon the experiences that shape them.

Tragically,in societies where people evolve as civilized and peaceful and are then dragged into war, they need to be de-programmed and re-conditioned. Once taboo's are broken, savagery and violence become the new norm.

History shows that following major conflicts, a flood of de-mobbed soldiers usually leads to a surge in violent crime; people who have been conditioned to see killing others as normal are unlikely to simply re-adjust back to what most of us see as civilized behavior.

The human race has a cruel streak in it that will, eventually, be the end of us. I have been watching a video (and which is, obviously, being viewed world wide by millions on tv) of brutality to patients in a British mental hospital. Yesterday there were shots of a man, later to be found to be dead, laying in a British hospital corridor and being dragged away in a most callous manner.

There are a few protests about these happenings but, in general, all these acts are treated by an indifferent public, who could not care less, as long as it does not happen to them. The same happens to, what used to be called, shell-shocked soldiers, As far as we are concerned it is all swept under the carpet except for Armistice Day when everyone who needs to be seen by the media,is seen laying wreaths and looking suitably solemn and the rest of us may, or may not, shut up for a minute's silence, while hundreds of servicemen are not being treated and honoured in the way that they deserve because it costs money.

Provide evidence as to where starving people have turned to kill each other.

The simple fact that you are here, the product of countless thousands of generations that had to kill in order to survive.

The instinct to survive is within you and all your spin and bluster will never rid you of the killer chimp that lurks in your DNA.

So how to you explain Ghandi's revolution with peace?

You still haven't explained Ethiopia either?

Your sentiments do not stand up to empirical evidence.

Cause for past wars are many and man is becoming enlightened to misadventures.

We are evolving and at the cusp of a new era mon ami...
