ForexMorningTrade System

Following with the set selection issue.

There is another set which give me 11% more profit than 38 38 27 5, I have called it Combo 615.

It uses different set for shorts and longs:

Short: 37SL 38TP 25BE
Long: 37SL 43TP 27BE

You can see the results of the backtest in the attached comparison.

I encourage Coral to double check the backtest results :)

Cheers.

PS: this set was already published also in the forward comparison last week.

It's possible to set the EA to trade only short or long trades?

Don't want to sidetrack FMT but it's still profitable on the daily for me. There's a good discussion here http://www.donnaforex.com/forum/index.php?topic=2322.345 so we don't derail this thread.

Highly recommend this system, I don’t trade it (can’t trade everything) but shows how such a simple system using an ma can make profit.
1 ma and a bit of knowledge of price action, inside bars, outside bars, engulfing, pins, S&R etc .. works.
If you cannot day trade, try a daily chart for 1 year. You won’t go back. I trade on the daily, sometimes go down to a 4hr for entry to get a better price, but its all less stressful and easily manageable. Quality trades over quantity.
Check out the 365ma on a daily, zoom out and just look at price and what it does at this ma.

But, keep going with fmt, it’s a lull period that’s all. If it’s really bothering you, limit your risk. I use 3% and still happy with its performance. Part and parcel of the job.

Never seen a trading system without drawdown periods, not even the best one. This is a FMT drawdown, that's all.Keep faith in it,keep on running it.My humble tip guys.

Finally a TP (+35) although this was down to the news, NOT the indicators of the system, price was heading the wrong way yet again...This could however be the first example of where the extra 5 pips on the stop loss has saved a trade...

FMT account: £845 (-15.5%)

Settings with more than 40SL seem to be the only winners today, except for 10/40 which had a lucky session.

Deserteagle (43/65) still running, but passed the BE reset point.

Results of the last 25 trades:
FMT 3 (35/45/BE+5@25) -5
FMT2 (35/40/BE@20) -225
FMT1 (40/40 no BE) -200
10/40 -50
28/40 -48

Results of rolling 12 months:
FMT2 1520
FMT1 1720
10/40 1170
28/40 1640

Hi,

I am new here (as a contributer, I have been following for some time). Have been trading for a few years and FMT seems an easy way to have a nice profit in long term without stress. I believe the consistency is the core though and if we believe in something we have to stick to it in long time... I have started trading FMT a week ago, not a good period I guess but I believe it will turn around.

10/40: +10
35/40/25: +40 (SL was almost hit, but today is a lucky day:))
38/38/27: -38

Total: -80, -97, -38

Shows just how borderline some of these days can be, as some set 40sl and stayed in the trade, others just got stopped out.

But there'll be another day when luck is the other way round, that is what seems to be the experience with this and any system.

I can only think we do need to be very careful with all the optimisation that goes on that the end result just comes from curve fitting. And then the pattern might not get repeated

For me the simpler the system the better. I don't use 40/40 but I think it has a lot going for it.

Results for the YTD including holidays and all the bad days without LCF:
40/40 +320
10/40 +240
28/40 +236
35/40/BE@20 +210

Hi Too Sexy !

Yes, you are right !, the past few weeks have not been good. Looks like May will be only the 2nd losing month since September 2010. January lost -90 pips but all other months have been winners, so I am ahead by more than 1,000 pips since trading FMT., 8 months total.

Thanks for your concern, but I'm not too worried, wish I had more EAs as good as FMT.

cheers !..:D

I enjoy watching your results Hammy, and obviously so does MF if they have now become official FMT recommendations!

I'm just wondering, and I may have said it to others before, whether you would agree that it might make more sense (also make your losses look smaller even if it does the same to your winnings) if you divided your day tally by 2.5 if not by 3 on account of the 3 entries and the half lot on the last of them. This would then make the result more easy to compare with every one else's as I think I'd be right in saying you are dividing your risk in 3 (if not 2.5) by making the phased entries.

I'm not wishing to be pedantic, only to suggest that we need to be comparing like with like when weighing up the success of different tactics.

Keep at it! :)

I closed this trade manually at BE. I did so because the trade missed the London open and it has been my experience that when it does you are at the mercy of the markets.
