I am wishing to use Point and Figure Charting and am looking for a charting package which will allow me to do this and some other TA methods (i.e. MA, MACD etc). Do I then need to purchase some data stream or would this come with the charting package??

I am confused!!! Can anyone reccommend a suitable package and data stream

Hi Ingenerio

You have 2 options that I know of. Either:

ESignal - About $104 a month or,
SierraChart - About £6 a month (with the T2W Store Discount), but you will need a datafeed from Mytrack to power it, which is about $20 a month.

Both will do PnF with indicators. The Sierrachart PnF is constructed slightly differently, but you do get used to it after a while

Hope this helps

Hello Ingenerio

Also have a look at http://www.pfscan.com/ which is a Point and Figure package with extensive backtesting system allowing trading system development.

Refer to http://www.pfscan.com/Tc2k.html giving datafeed information/options.

If you want the best then www.cqg.com may be worth a look...

The down side is your looking around $1500 per month for the privilege

If your P&F is important for you, I'd go for Updata (14 day free trial) http://www.updata.co.uk has the best P&F I have seen, and is compatible with a load of feeds (or they have their own feed through S&P). It has loads of TA indicators in it as well.

You might also consider Sharescope (www.sharescope.com) if you're not as bothered about the P&F.

MACD and MA can be found in most charting packages out there.
