I’m just starting to invest in shares and really want to expand my knowledge. So my books/courses/websites etc. I’m ideally after a book that can get me going. After recommendations please

Or, you could;

Take book money,
Follow price movements. (you can simply refresh Arty's prolific chart posts for really easy picks)
Buy the dips.
Sell the peaks.
Repeat ad infinitum.

My suggestion was for trading.
If you are going to invest so buying and holding for years the best way is learning with youtube.
Start with videos about Buffet and Lynch.
Than focus on few companies and try to get every kind of info about the company and the manager, min one hundred of hours of research per company.

best book i can recommend for investing in shares
it certainly doesn't take hundreds of hours research per company. then when you've got the book, there is an old thread still kept alive on here. use both at the same time, it will complement the understanding of the book. it will still take practice, but there are few people who can write about a method like this guy

the person who started the thread uses the method. let me know if you need a hand

Honestly never got that interested in reading about trading, I love reading but the subject matter seemed kinda boring to me. I would recommend checking out websites like Babypips or looking for some good channels to follow on YouTube as those resources were a lot more engaging in my opinion when I was starting out. Good luck!

The very first book which I read as a beginner was Forex Trading: The Basics Explained in Simple Terms. This book is written by Jim Brown. I know there are many good books out there but the very title of the book suggested me that this book is oriented towards teaching the basics to beginners. So it became my first choice.

There are a lot of books on forex trading, and every book is pretty much the same. Some of the most suggested books are-

1) Currency trading for dummies Brian Dolan and Kathleen Brooks

2) Trading in the zone by Mark Douglas

There are also some good forums with free courses. One of them is babypips. You can also check courses by forex traders like Adam Khoo.

Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques Book by Steve Nison is a good book according to me. I also read this book when I needed an introduction to the forex market.
