AVG Found TrojanHorse Help

If AVG has moved it to the vault, everything should be fine. Nothing to worry about!

you should be okl - as long as it is in the vault. There is a facility to empty the vault. Suggest you do that.

Hi sun123

The vault is used for the following purposes according to AVG.

"The Virus Vault is used to lock up infected files out of harms way. You can use the Virus Vault to heal files at a later date and restore them to their original locations on your disk. Files are moved to the Virus Vault during tests and by resident components like the AVG E-mail Scanner."

So I presume that empting the vault has the same effect of deleting the file.

Sun123 -

I assume you're on WinXP? If you are and you're worried that deleting it might have some adverse effect, but equally want to delete it, then just create a system restore point first:

Click on Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> System Restore.

Just give the restore point a name that you'll know. Once thats done (takes about 5 seconds, literally), delete the file in AVG.

That way, if there are any problems (highly unlikely), you can restore the system to pre-file deletion state, and you're no worse off.
