AVG v Avast

Is Avast better than AVG?
Have used AVG, it seems ok, but Avast, also free, seems to have more functionality.
Dont want to run both.

Any experiences to suggest Avast might be better?
(am curious about the anti-rootkit function, as it implies to me that it essentially tidies up any adware/spyware that moght have got installed.B ut, AVG has this "green tick" alongside websites that are ok to click on.)

Probably not much help, but I've used Avast for years with no problems so would recommend that one.

Avast is better than AVG speed wise, it facilitates the scanning process with great effectiveness.
