Best Thread Arabian's *serious* Thread

On a serious note. I think T2W should have upheld his request due to the fact that nobody on T2W staff would ever have the capacity to ascertain the mental health of a member and they should have a moral responsibility to uphold wishes of a member to remove from the public domain any possible public displays of mental health delusions.

I think T2W just plain got this wrong.

WHAT

Arabian is a fantastic guy, very bright and the kindest money making machine I have ever come across. (y)

Have you checked if you have any mental health issues? ;)

He is a fantastic guy, probably the nicest guy on here and probably the best trader too, which makes the T2W decision even worst. He suffered from a breakdown and over time made some strange posts.
He openly talked about this and my belief is that these are some of the posts he wanted deleted.

Which is why I believe T2W got this very wrong.

Oh ok sorry - might have got the wrong end of the stick  - that I didn't know and not sure if it is true but either way I supported Arabian's request to have his old threads deleted and still do...

Please convey my best wishes to him if you meet him. Seeing that advert immediately reminded me of Arabian and hence my post. (y)

He didn't suffer as much as the hamster,,,,

suffered from a breakdown as he suddenly wasn't such a great trader anymore ?? just like Jess livermore who eventually killed himself...

well probably not given he's moved offshore. You should stop trolling everyone cos you've had bad experiences advfntrader. There's warning people of the dangers of gambling addiction and then there's being annoying. If you feel so strongly why not speak to the admin/mods and start up a sticky or a new section where people can help each other with their problems?

Is a big leap advfn.

I didn't know he had personal issues til someone posted earlier, and I wish they hadn't cos I wld rather not know. Its not evident from the posts I have read.

When you say 'offshore' - does he live on a boat?

Perhaps Arabian got it wrong too though. I haven't tried, but I believe if I sent a genuine message to the owner of the site or admin and politely requested that this this and that post be deleted because it was affecting me personally AND it was clear that this was private type info which I wouldn't want public, then I believe they would remove them. Blanket removal of a few thousand posts, including those with nothing of a personal nature is a very different scenario.

Perhaps they wouldn't remove them, but I think they'd be taking a large legal risk if they didn't, and it would reflect badly on the site. Posts which are on topic and contain nothing damaging to the health or privacy of the person, well you can understand why they don't delete them.

a) blanket removal of a few thousand posts is trivial.
b) noone at t2w is qualified to judge what information contained in posts is damaging to the health or privacy of a person
c) I believe that Arabian offered to pay any reasonable costs, and t2w would have made a profit. Is rather bizarre that they'll take payment to promote an unlicensed investment scheme, but they wont accept payment to undertake a request from a member.

I am biased, as I want posts deleting too

a) I know it's trivial to do the hare, but the effect on the threads is non trivial. A journey from the Basement thread without Socrates posts makes no sense at all, for example. Multiple threads won't make any sense in fact. But deletion of a few here and there, is fine.
b) You don't need a qualification for this. A bit of heart and common sense will do the job. I believe several of the mods have both.
c) From what I remember, there was a sort of antagonistic approach to this, in which arabian threatened various things, and posted various things that were not welcome.

I thought he was both funny at times and insightful when he could be bothered, and so I hope he is well. but there are so many situation which can be handled better early on and never become a problem.

Just wanted to throw in that I also offered to pay for removal of all my posts too.

I'm also lead to believe that arabian asked politely to have his posts removed.

The answer I got was that removing posts would disrupt the flow or something along those lines. Wasn't aware that my lulz were so important to the site.

All? Or a select few? World of difference.

Arabian popped in recently under the pseudonym 'Gay Rapist', tangled with BJ who didn't quite know what was going on and then had some brief dialogue with me and Bramble. His posts were then deleted and the account removed.

He is living life to the full, offshore, trading from a small hut on the Calf of Man in tax exile.

He pops in to post cr@p like that and then cries about t2w not deleting his posts and threads?
I think he's already been given preferential treatment as it is.

From what I understand the forthcoming Data Protection EU Directive will contain a ‘right to be forgotten’.
Basically it means web / social media will need to remove personal data when requested, so T2W (for example) will no longer be able to say it owns the content if that content concerns personal / biographical data.
e.g. facebook will have to offer an option to close accounts rather than leave them in limbo ready to be reactivated.
Im not sure quite how it wil work or if it will have retrospective effect.

I agree though, I think the current Data Protection Act would cover any posts that identified a person’s medical issues.

Was he involved in posting child porn? Disgusting. Anyway, as far as i know, Arabian is a market maker, not a speculator.

Maybe it would be in his best interests to concentrate on his professional career?
