Hi Postman,
I would suggest that the eastern markets are responding directly to the issues in China and the DAX is responding to the Ukraine problems. However the US markets appear rather disconnected with those percentages....maybe a much larger drop down is due ?

Morning all.
Bit of a damp squib today.
Apparently Russians in Crimea is good news! :whistling

"Russia is the only country in the world realistically capable of turning the United States into radioactive ash," anchor Dmitry Kiselyov said on his weekly news show on state-controlled Rossiya 1 television.

another ********

George Osborne has been criticised by Tory MPs after allegedly saying that people who pay the 40p rate feel they are "successful" and have "joined the aspirational classes".

What is the budget for the large Hadron thingey? ...... The total cost of the project is expected to be of the order of 4.6bn Swiss francs (CHF) (approx. $4.4bn, €3.1bn, or £2.8bn as of Jan 2010) for the accelerator

To look back to see how the universe began? Or to find out how to make a bomb big enough to evaporate the Eastern Bloc and leave it uncontaminated?

HTW, a simple "Good morning" would have sufficed.

Second-world-war history weighs on German decision-making. But economics does too. Germany gets about a third of its oil and gas from Russia. It also sends a lot of its exports of manufactured goods there. Germany alone accounts for almost a third of the EU’s total exports to Russia. And Russia is Germany’s 11th-biggest export market, worth €36 billion ($48 billion) last year.

And guess what, the Russians did exactly what the Americans have been doing all over the world. Replacing the government and letting people vote and they voted.
