We had Boris looking confused and embarresed and Beckham kicking a ball into the crowd followed by a poor rendition of Queen and some bird from a TV reality show. Beckham doesn't even live in this country any more does he?

Boris Johnson is a first class a**h**e and a deep embarrassment to this country.

Beckham is simply a media whore.........I wonder much his fee was for kicking a ball AT the Chinese.

The Jimmy Page and Leona Lewis ( wtf is she anyway ? ) combination was appalling and totally inappropriate.

It was a God awful start to London 2012 which will only get worse.

I wonder how many stabbings of Olympic tourists there will be during that 16 days in 2012 in East London. It will be a chavvs paradise and easy pickings.

The Chinese got it spot on when they signed up Sarah Brightman for the opening ceremony.

A true touch of class and a master stroke.

I don't suppose she will get a look in in 2012.

BTW, did anyone see that truly abysmal Olympic party pop concert ( cure-all ) outside Buck House yesterday ?

Every single British act was of appallingly low quality and the only act of any decency was actually non-British...Il Divo.
