Yes TRADEFAIR over the last two days have beena n utter disaster I must have called them about 20 times.

Their Server is down at the moment.
Trades placed and filled are not showing up in the Open Positions Window
Trades Won't close
Main switchboard has transfer message on it when busy
Platform doesn't always work in either Chrome Firefox or Explorer

Do you need to know any of the other problems with it????

AliEn ;(

PS I have probably lost over £400 in profits thanks to them

Same here - closed an open position but it still appeared as open. very un-nerving as profit seemed to be slipping away by the second. Fortunately the email confirmation came through to confirm that the order had been closed. i tried logging out and back in but it still appeared as open. Also, I placed an order but it didn't appear in the order book and the next thing I knew it had been triggered - tw@ts! Imagine if i wanted to cancel it and i can't find it in the order book. I'm looking around from a new platform now. Anyone used IG or Fins?

That is odd, I was under the impression Tradefair is a white label of CS? However I am with CS and have never experienced any of the problems above - a little difficulty in placing orders in very fast moving/volatile markets but that is the case with virtually every SB you will find.

IG are okay but their spreads are huge, oil was frequently 20 points today, I do not see how anyone can trade spreads that wide seriously, regardless of time-frame etc, the fact is you put a fiver on per point and you are down 100 pounds before you have even started. Day traders have no chance.

I have just opened an account with CMC, spreads seem competitive, complaints about their charts in another thread here but I use my own so I am purely interested in using an SB to execute.

Never used city index (aka finspreads), would be interested to here any opinions/comparisions from others on them?

i had a similar problem with finspreads i was 180 pounds in profit then when i clicked to close it said price out sized or something, offering me a settlement of 135 pounds ..........****in basterds too !

im not trading anymore till i get an account with futuresbetting.com and if i get any **** with them i will go to interactivebrokers.com

I had an account with Finspreads and had the same issues. I have switched to Futuresbetting and should have done it months ago. The software is different and takes getting used to but there is no comparision as to speed and reliability. No requotes and in these markets when you need to hit the market it takes milliseconds. What I found with Finspreads was I was not sure of if I was going to get filled or not, hanging there waiting and watching the market move 30 points at a time.
To be honest FB are probably not the tightest spreads, but I would rather pay more for a proper system, which will probably save me money in the long run.

TRADEFAIR are a complete waste of time - Dont bother with them - their plaform is too unstable
They don't seem to take service seriuosly and the phone support is too slow
I scalp and at times have almost been involved in disasters like no open position showing and they say you are in one - UTTER CRAP COMPANY!

I prefer IGINDEX over the rest of firms , us oil now 7 point spread at igindex

I can't understand comments like this!

I've found the platform to be completely stable and have never had any trouble - and I trade every day.

Must be your PC.

Must be your PC.

No, its definitely their sh1t platform. The old platform was fine, but this new one is prone to problems - orders not displaying, closed positions showing as open etc. Fortunatley the emails confirming your transactions come through pretty quickly - although that's not much use if you're scalping like AlienPsyTing

How can it be a problem with their platform when it works perfectly on my computer?

you're just fortunate. I've emailed Tradefair twice regarding the problem and they have twice acknowledged that they were experiencing technical difficulties at that time. The problem has also occurred on both my home PC and my PC at work, so that kind of rules out the PC or the internet connection as the culprit.

Very simple £10kLoser - When the Tradefair Platform running on your PC connects to the servers at TF - obviously there are a number of servers that handle incomming connections - they seem to be having problems with these...

As regards your comment "it must be my PC..." - TF admitted to me that it was their fault after denying all day that it wasn't

You can tell it was them as the bottom right hand corner connection icon kept having a red cross through it and the markets kept dissappearing...

You must be a post-modernist - i.e. If its not happening to you it ain't happening
:p

If it's 'Very simple' it's taken you a while to get there.

I may be a post-modernist but my karma is better than yours since I always connect perfectly every day.

More problems with tradefair tonight. I had a sell order which should have been filled when price went through my level, however the order did not open and now when i try to amend or cancel the order it says I can't as it is pending execution. Its been in this state now for over 20 minutes and there is nothing I can do! Will it execute at my original order price or the price when the order finally goes through?! Do I need to stay up all night watching for when it finally does go through or what?!!

"It's your PC".

Well, if their platform only works on some PCs then surely they should provide a new PC for every user? Alternatively, don't use their service at all (since Betfair now charge 20% tax on winnings for customers who are too succesful, it seems only justice that customers who receive a crap service just look elsewhere. Call it karma).

You guys will never learn will ya ?

When losses are exelerated and profits are minimised resulting in ( Broke/Bankrupt ) then you would relise that DMA is the only way to trade.

SB firms will do what ever they can to obstruct the trader from maximising profits.

I asked them about the "tax" and i got the reply below:

Hello,

I am aware that on betfair you have a policy regarding regular winners- i think there is a 20% or so deduction on clients who earn a certain amount there.

Does this apply to tradefair also- or are all the winnings given to the client without charge?

Thanks
