Why do some US stocks not show on UK Spreadbetting brokers?

I have been using some stock scanners and found some interesting US equities but I cannot find them with any UK brokers they are smaller caps not blue chip like Apple or Amazon...how do Brokers determine which stocks they offer?

Why would a SB firm not offer Apple and Amazon if they want to be seen as credible? I suggest changing your account to a better firm.

Because there isn’t as much demand for them, they’re comparatively thinly traded so there can be high volatility which is probably why you want to trade them. I wouldn’t trust a spread betting bucket shop if they offered them, the spread would be wide and you would probably find favourable trades hard to close.

Use a real broker like interactive brokers and just pay the tax on your winnings.
