This simple back test using a trading system using technical analysis shows a 35 % return last week .Why aren't traders making this type of money?

Trading 1 lot will bring in 3.5 % a week , but 10 lots above will bring in 35%

Its funny how every week is the same isn't it? Makes it so easy for us millionaire traders.

(you'll get no real answer because its a stupid question that has been asked countless times before in different ways)

I have been noticing this system and markets , and they keep doing the same thing week after week.Previous week was similar.

Maybe the answer is on the forums.

Why aren't traders making this type of money?

Cos they are too much busy trading demo and running back tests. Can we ask you why are you not making that kind of money ? Did you imagine the guy on the other side of your trade, who would be armed to the teeth with means of manipulation, is stupid and would hand you money like an ATM ? Or did you imagine there is no one on the other side of your trade and things happen by magic ? Once you start pondering these simple questions, it will dawn on you that demo trading and back testing doesn't mean jack.

Your back test does not show 35% per week. A back test shows nothing.

The question was "Why aren't traders making 200% per year?". Some are.

Most aren't because it's very difficult to do so.

Doesn't seem like a question worth asking, really.

200% a year is rubbish, might as well give up and work at McDonalds.

Compound it on a weekly basis and it gives you almost 30 % a week or 1500 % a year, start with only 1 lot.

Either you know how to do it or you don't .

Increasing leverage is going to increase volatility in returns and the risk of ruin. At the limits you can bet 0 and return 0, or bet 100% of your capital and get phenomenal returns until the first loser wipes you out. Clearly part of our job is to determine an acceptable trade off.

There's a perfectly good reason why most traders dont increase position size by a factor of 10, and why there's an upper limit of percentage returns that are sustainable over an extended period

I have been trying to trade this system on and off , and just realised it works if you follow it and are disciplined. It does not seem that difficult if you follow it meticulously , and is based on trading with higher time frames and entries on 1 minute , then running your profits and cutting your losses.

Somehow other biases ,personality and beliefs interfere in trading live.

I have just been implementing this system on live and had some early teething problems.

+1 simple as that.

Hmm, last week.
How much for the last five years or last decade.
Christ I'd want to forwards test for 52 times longer than your backtest
At that frequency, at least 3-4 months forwards testing minimum.
Thats if spreads and comms don't kill it...

A weeks results in forwards testing means nothing.
A weeks backtest is worthless.

Yes, same with other traders. They are busy having teething problems that're interfering with their +100% per minute trading. The interference comes from the source I stated.
