The expense of moving next to the exchange etc. makes it impractical for the average retail trader imho.

Why they are ready to share it with you, instead of making money themselves. Speed edge fields are very sensitive to the number of players in the game. Millions should be invested to create monopoly or oligopoly to make risk-free profit thanks to the speed edge.
