What policies would YOU like to see the politicians put in place.
The politicians never seem to ask US the electorate. They sit in the Westminster swamp and tell us what they think. As such they have got out of touch. All the party leaders supported Remain and the vote went the other way !

It may be too late for 2017 but just about right for the next one.

Make better use of retired people. Pay them properly and encourage them to start businesses with younger people. After all they have the experience to pass on or do the young have to reinvent the wheel each generation ?

Pensioners have a lot more expenses such as medical. They helped build what the younger generations take for granted and should be entitled to some respect and thanks.

Happy for respect and gratitude to go to the elderly but why does the state pick up the bill?

The State can afford to or should we become like a 3rd world failing state and just kick them into the street when they are too old to fend for themselves ?
There is a huge industry looking after the elderly. My point is instead of them " waiting for God " to get them, they could be utilised. They would largely welcome given something useful to do too.

Once again, it's not up to government to provide people with jobs.

Start an elders community coop Pat. Canvas your local area and guage opinion. If there's enough interest and enthusiasm, then you will have your answer !

Elders are always looking to park money for a return. You provide the money and let the youth do the work.

I'm not saying elderly should be cut off from benefits, but why are working, employable, wealthy and healthy elderly state-funded simply because they reached a certain birthday?
