Incompetence of TM is mind blowing. Even more so having worked as home secretary for so long.

Police officers tell her there is a link between police cuts and rise in knife crime and she says no there isn't.

If the police do not have the resource to follow up or actively target drug gangs what can they do?

However, it's not just the police. NHS, Teaching and many other public services including transport are all being cut. Tories always run down social services. Nothing new here. Nothing to see.

Move along. (n)(n)(n)

But they are telling us there is record spending on the cops, where’s all the money going, policing hate crimes?

Apparently the knife crime answer lies with the Glaswegian example, an example the MSM appear to be ignoring, why, to score points?

21000 cuts in police numbers and you think it's just police wasting time investigating hate crimes going to fix knife crime?

Watching Question time and the problem is that Tories cutting back on social services; NHS, police numbers, teachers, nurses, prison officers, council funding, closing libraries, closing youth centres and simply giving away tax breaks to the well off are the problem.

Top that with a monumental waste of two years on Brexit and HS2 project and it is clear Tories are badly failing the UK and don't have any policies or ideas to fix these issues.

fwiw I fear it will get considerably worse before it gets better.

To expect anything half decent from the Tories who are the primary cause of running down social services, is fool hardy.

Did they talk about the Glasgow knife crime example? Or the New York example on QT?

Don't know but I find it hard to believe it is going to investigating hate crime.

900 assigned officers in the met area alone, additional IT infrastructure, countless highly paid expert contractors, support staff, additional interfaces with other agencies, training & awareness programmes, new LGBTQ+ liveries for police vehicles and new uniform insignias, additional legislative burden, lawyers barristers judges, court time, prison cells etc etc.

That lot could easily consume a £billion of our hard earned tax dollars.

These are just the items we could identify, what about all the secondary activities, covert surveillance, specialised intelligence officers, automated collection from specialised systems (eg CCTV), none of that is cheap, all the infrastructure needs constant upgrading and maintenance by expensive contract companies. Constant policy meetings and lobbying of big tech surveillance giants such as Google, FB, Apple, Amazon, interfacing with agencies such as GCHQ/NSA.

Orwellian style social policing is not cheap, we live in a surveillance state.

Compare that with the cost of 21000 cops on the streets, about the same? Cops probably even cheaper! Govt has to prioritise, knife crime is yesterdays bog roll compared to social policing and intelligence led operations.

Govt is prioritising the promotion of it's propaganda (Global), suppressing dissidence and censoring on a massive scale to maintain control, repel foreign influence, electoral influence, a few knife crime statistics don't really matter to them when there are bigger fish to fry.

You are underestimating the scale, hate crime is the tip of the iceberg.

So I ask again, where is all the money going?

I don't know and wouldn't like to guess.

You seem well clued up though. Good stuff.

Love him or hate him, agree with some of his views, disagree with his views, like or not like his lack of professionalism, agree with his backers or disagree, it matters not when principals of democracy and the rule of law are at stake.

Police, courts, judges, attorney general, CPS, civil servants and so on all consuming tax payers money, and for what? To shutdown the largest political commentator/journalist on Facebook a couple of weeks ago. More followers than the Tories or Labour, it is so obvious what is happening for the establishment to go to such lengths to get him off our computer screens and back into prison.

He is a global phenomenon, on a par with Julian Assange who has been illegally incarcerated for years, they have managed to shut Assange down, all a result of our own UK government, a government that was a leading democracy, pioneer of freedom of speech and all that entails, to be involved in the shutdown of legitimate, dissident voices using legislation (applied unfairly or illegally) and a complicit media.

All those people that have suffered and died to protect our freedoms over the centuries, to protect us from totalitarianism, coming at us from all quarters and for what, so that our own government can turn those freedoms against us, it's own people? A government actively working against its own citizens was a thing of Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Mugabe, Gaddafi, countless names.....and now Theresa May is added to the list?! I really hope not.

I wonder where we are headed if it is not an Orwellian society, I think the death knell of politics as we know it is ringing with millions of people now supporting TR's views and the perceived injustice, add in the Brexit process, boom!

In some ways I (and I'm sure millions of others), find it difficult to understand why UKGov have chosen to go down this route, you only have to look at ancient history to see how civilisations have declined due to totalitarianism and power greediness, only to be reborn as something else as another phase of society emerges (and no I'm not referring to the freakin Nazi's or Marxists here, they were fly-by nights in the grand scheme of human civilisations that have been rightly suppressed, thinking more of the Romans, Vikings, Spanish, British, European Empires as examples that lasted for hundreds of years). We are truly living through and witnessing historic times as change is underway in society and politics.

I've only watched 3.5 mins of the clip and agree whole heartedly with his views. Couldn't stomach the rest.

Have no idea what the Attorney General's been smokin but he needs to go back to reading his law books.

It’s an interesting conundrum as government seeks to find the right balance between citizens’ freedom and citizens’ protection. Always difficult, particularly as circumstances are ever changing and often government struggles to get it right. Eg: An explosion of hate against a section of our community can, quite reasonably, lead to a curtailment of free speech to protect citizens. Similarly, the recent explosion of knife crime can, quite reasonably, lead to a curtailment of peoples’ freedom via stop and search for the protection of citizens. These actions might be of a totalitarian (with a small “t”) type but do not have totalitarian objectives.

A totalitarian regime takes totalitarian actions in order to maintain itself and it’s cohorts in power. A democratic regime takes sometimes similar (but rarely as extreme) actions in order to protect its citizens. I think there is a fundamental difference in objective.

Balance is lost in this case imo. Law must be applied equally to all citizens.

Outrage is pouring from grief stricken hearts and response is pitifully woeful.

Injustice in one area of society will lead to disproportionate disequilibrium in an other tipping the scales of sound reason and rational. I think we are witnessing the outcomes.

Complex subject indeed.
