Fletcher replies...........

Nick Breakout - someone who unlawfully leaves the confines of one of Her Majesties establishments for the criminally inclined.

1:1 wave ratio (measured move) point of either impulsive or corrective waves.

Ah yes, the famous "Nick Breakout", I should have known. Good one Chump.

So far our list of breakout types is as follows:

7. Ross Hook Breakout (mheitkoe)

Are there any other types of breakouts that can be tested?

Thanks and good trading all....

I find it a little strange my point on ratio 1:1 has been classed as some what invalid?? People seem to miss the importance of price movement in relation to a unity pressure point.. ;)

But hey each to their own so to speak... :cheesy:

Sorry a320, you are absolutely right, I did miss your contribution.

1:1 wave ratio (measured move) point of either impulsive or corrective waves

Could you please explain what the 1:1 wave ratio is and how it works and most importantly how it is a breakout? Then I will add it to the list.

Thanks,

XT

You could include gap ups and gap downs, following areas of congestion.
However, these departures from previous price schedules may not be long lived owing to rapid exhaustion. If they continue to motor, then techchnically you could say its a breakaway situation leading to new price schedules or possibly developing into new (higher or lower) areas of congestion.
Careful attention to the background can be very helpful.

thanks a320.
It will take me some time to go through all the threads. I have been following the no indicators thread for a couple weeks but have not read the whole thread. I honestly have never heard of the 1:1 ratio cycles and I don't know what you mean by "Geometry freaks" but i'm open to learning about it. Is it possible to give a quick definition of the 1:1 ratio in a post here?

thanks,

Allan
