Transfering funds to IB via Internet banking

I know this has been discussed quite a while ago but I just want to get an update on this. Does anyone transfer funds through their Internet bank to IB? Has anyone had problems with this?

Recently transferred money from my spanish bank account to IB (citibank, uk) via the internet and all worked well.

Thanks. Do you have to state with IB that your wiring funds to them? Or do you have to select something else?

Tip - transfer an odd amount, say - £4,997 rather £5,000 to make it easier and quicker for them to match up.

Online transfers from NatWest work fine for me.

Yes you have to tell IB to expect the cash:

Login>>Account Management>>Deposits and Transfers>>Wire Transfer

Put your IB account number and username as the reference when sending from your bank.

Sorry Frugi, but do you mean IB Account Name or IB User Name? Its just that in the instructions they say to use the Account Name?

I use online banking and only put my IB account ID number in the reference, it works fine. However I think it also said somewhere that the bank account name and IB account name (note not login name) should match, so you may have problems if these are very different for whatever reason.

Just the account name, probably Uxxxxxx, should be fine. I put in both for good measure but I expect you don't need to.

Thanks alot for your help. Ive just transfered my funds now. I didnt have enough space in the ref field so i only put my account number in there. Hope it works!

should be fine Creech , I only used my Account number ( IB ref that is ) .

never had a problem with money in or out

I transferred funds from my Egg savings account to IB fine. Just had to put my IB account number in the reference box.
