Tottenham Riots

Rich take what they can just like the poor - what ever they can get away with.

Think Politicians and amount of expenses they can claim.

In fact think every other fat cat, their expenses bonuses and salaries and pensions. Even when they should be fired.

People see what they want to...

Did you read what I wrote...or even what you wrote?

But anyway, I didn't know having a large salary was illegal. Thanks for enlightening me.

always the case in this f***ing country
the labour fuc**** up with the economy
and it is left to the tories to clear the mess

lol, it's like kids on the last day of school!
Strength in numbers, capitalizing on what they see as a window of opportunity to get away with whatever they want. Nothing to do with that drug dealer that got shot (not that that would make it OK, lol).
Looting, vandalism and now even lots of sexual assault on teen girls from what I hear! madness.
Dont know what the solution is though (at least long term.... Short term we need to start picking them off with a rifle).
Just people being brought up badly who then go on to have kids and raise them the same way. Sterilization maybe?
Anyway, mate of mine has got a cheap Ipad going that i need to check out, so must dash....

Be specific?

It's a sub-culture in the UK. Most people wouldn't come across them - I just happened to find cheap accomodation in their midst, renting a council flat off someone that somehow managed to have a number of them. It's generations of scroungers, scammers and chancers that make zero effort to contribute to society. This is by choice, if they have money for fags, booze and the satellite, they are happy. Any additional funds can be made with a bit of burglary on the side.

Out of interest if this is by choice, why dont more middle class make this sort of choice?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo no no no no no....

See what you are doing? Being a lefty. You have just made a huge, wide sweeping statement about wealthy people without any basis other than what you read in the Daily Mail. Cut the BS dude. You are making wide sweeping statements about **** you think you know just cause you rented some **** whole which I grew up in. Many poor people out there who work damn hard and earn an honest living doing donkey work paid a pittance. You are just one sided and don't have the humility to consider your own arguements when an opposing view is presented to you...

You have done this because the wealthy must be to blame and the poor 'had it ever so bad'. Please see the comments on Che Guevara and the reason people like you admire him, despite knowing nothing about him. There is a glamorous elevator pitch for Che - "ooh all the poor Cubans were being exploited by US coporations and he kicked them out". Given a choice, it would be interesting to see what all the Cubans would have preferred going back in time (especially the ones Che killed/had killed).
Cuba has turned out a lot better than pretty much most Latin American countries littered with Juntas and torture. What time frame and period you talking about. That is despite enduring ridiculous embargo imposed by the so called great US of A. To you Che maybe a terrorist but to others he is a legend. Depends what books your fed for breakfast.

There are plenty of rich people that are productive members of society that are not sociopaths. The thing is the sociopaths make the headlines. And there are even more poor people on the border line who are even more productive members of society.

Both rich people and poor people can be sociopaths. The people in the streets right now are not necessarily poor sociopaths.

I think they are poor. Poverty is all relative. I see them jumping tube barriers or passing by in twos. And no person who has money would do that. But when you have to work 1 hour to earn £6 for tube fares into central London why not.

How many minutes do the rich people you are referring have to work to be able to afford return fare on the tubes into central London? There is no comparison?

Their parents - I ride into work with at 5:30 am in the mornings have a really worn out look in their faces. Sitting on the tube you know who is who travelling so early into work. When I get into work - the cleaners are already there and I'm thinking I've got it hard.

Good point.

Some of them do. A friend of mine at 23 years old was dealing coke for a living, still living at his parents 5 bedroom house in Tamworth. The police had to go past his dads Porsche when they knocked the door down to arrest him & his brother. He got 6 years. Very middle class family. He'd not have rioted - it would have messed his hair up. Still - he did deal in stolen goods as well as dealing.

He never ever even entertained the idea of actually working for a living.

One close friend has 2 lovely daughters and 3 houses - all paid for by his coke dealing. He's 41 years old. Another 2 people I know not so well just got busted. One in Spain with 5kgs (him & his g/f are now doing 9 years), one in the UK with 1 kg he had posted to himself by DHL  - he's looking at 15-20. He's late 30's, they have been after him for a while, his wife and kids will be out of a house soon as they are taking all his assets.

Even when these people have amassed assets - they can't stop.

All of these people had good upbringings (Ok - the guy in Spain didn't) and there is no explanation for what they do other than I guess they thought they'd get away with it. Other people around them WERE getting away with it.

For sure though - we do have a generation of children whose parents had kids as a means to an end - free flat, free money and no work. These children have been taught to work the system. They are NOT disenfranchised. They are working the system and taking what they can, where they can. They are happy as pigs in **** with their free money.

I still have 1 acquaintance who does this. He's 40. He has a lovely son who is being taught all the wrong things. He signs on, has a free house, he grows weed in the loft which brings in about 3 grand a month. His son will do the same and the cycle will repeat. My friend is totally happy about this. He doesn't have to lift a finger. He thinks the government gives him free money that no-one ever had to ear. He absolutely 100% would be a looter if the opportunity arose. He's been in prison 3 times and he thinks the place is a blast. There's no cause - the guy is just a cnut. He's on the dole & travels to Thailand with his son 3 times a year... Disenfranchised?

Am I the only one that knows such people?

Astute observations. I doubt if those who get up pre 5:30am go out rioting at night.

So you are for wealth redistribution?

I come from a working class family. My dad slaved in a factory working 14 hour shifts 4 nights a week. My mother was a cleaner at the school. I am PROUD of what my father did to give me a better life.

I left school at 18 because University simply wasn't affordable for us. I worked my ass off to the point where I run a company for a well known Japanese MNC. My salary is 6 figures and doesn't start with a "1". My son goes to a private shool and my daughter will too.

Still - I am not rich - but I am working my ass off - daytime work, 2nd own business & trading 5 nights a week to increase my wealth. I may become rich. I may also end up in the gutter. Both are entirely possible scenarios.

So why work hard? Why employ people? So some lefty can come along and presume it was all handed on a platter? So someone can say - why don't you take all the money you saved and invested and give it to that spotty guy in the shell suit?

You think all rich people didn't work hard? Don't deserve the fruit of their labours? Just redistribute it to all the lazy directionless Tennants Extra drinkers?

Then what motivates people to excel? To run businesses? To employ people?

You cannot judge someone on their wealth. Whether they have it or not. The idea that the rich are bad and the poor are good is just extreme leftism. It is total nonesense.

It certainly has nothing to do with what's happening in the UK right now.

My mate dealt coke for a living too. made about 4k per week, had a number of sports cars and a few flats. had a good up-bringing with wealthy parents too. When he was still living at home with his parents the police raided the family home which was worth well over 1 million pounds. Sniffer dogs and loads of coppers searching this lovely house trying to find drugs. They found some too, but nothing like the amount they were hoping to find. My friend had most if it stashed in another house that was never searched.

So he basically got away with it. (this initial raid is going back about 10 years so I cant exactly remember the details but I think he got about 2 years inside and served about year). He also didn't mind prison at all. He actually knew rather a lot of people in there and saw it as a chance to catch up with some old faces! His only complaint was that it got 'a bit boring'. Well worth the risk when you look at it like that. He honestly lived the playboy lifestyle for quite a while.

I know how you feel. We need people who think like this - people who are prepared to work their ar$e off to better themselves and their family and society. So what do we do to encourage the really successful ones? - tax them at a higher rate when they already contribute more in cash terms as well as creating wealth for others, their employees etc etc. Let them pay twice for education/health if they go private. Logically and in the best priciples of socialist fairness [], they should pay a lower rate of tax - now there's an incentive !

I sometimes wonder why such people stay here.

You are rightly proud of yoyr folks, and you therefore had working class ethics instilled in you with a good solid work discipline...the people we are talking about are not working class...they are a sub class that has evolved that have slipped below the old class distinction of 'working class.'

As we saw with the student riots , even young people from weallthy/privileged backgrounds can cause criminal damage and violent behaviour when they get whipped or or indeed instigate the mob mentality, but generally speaking the type of scenes we are witnessing predominate from this disenfranchised underclass whose paretnts have probably never worked and nor have they or will they...

What makes you think the armed services would want them !

More a matter of need, the armed forces are overstretched in Afghanistan as it is.

If they were forced to join up £ to a penny they would be dissapeared by their own side.

Problem solved, a tragedy; a few 'accidental' rounds to Jamal's head. :sneaky:

I can't comment - I left 14 or so years ago... :-0

Talking of staying here - what are all these 'hate the rich' lefties doing on a trading forum?

Shouldn't they be out distributing their wealth?

I don't think anyone envies these people, we know their lives are not sweet, in spite of the free houses, White Lightning and skunk. I think people just have contempt for them, it is richly deserved in many cases.

Can you help being poor? Often not. Can you help being a scumbag? Yes.

Yes they have a hard life, but there are choices; you can stay in education, you can choose not to be a criminal etc

I‘ve got a (ex) mate who is so institutionalised that he prefers to live on the inside because he finds it easier than on the outside. He will start a fight or do a job just to go back inside.
